As the only full-service dive center in the Fort Walton area, this dive shop is dedicated to providing top-quality scuba training, equipment, and service. With a strong belief in fostering a family atmosphere, every diver who trains here becomes a valued member of their diving community. Their experienced instructors have over 30 years of teaching experience, ensuring that each student receives the highest level of professional guidance and support.
At the heart of the dive center is Gary, a highly skilled and passionate instructor whose love for the ocean began during his time in the military. With nearly 30 years of diving experience, he has explored dive sites across the United States, including deep-water lakes on the West Coast, Florida’s freshwater springs, and the Gulf of Mexico. As a PADI-certified Master Instructor, Gary prioritizes safety while making every dive a fun and unforgettable experience.
Beyond his extensive diving expertise, Gary is the founder and president of Bright Horizons Diving, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing adaptive diving opportunities for individuals with special needs. He is one of the few in the world to hold a PADI Adaptive Dive Techniques Specialty and was instrumental in the development of the certification, serving on the PADI review board. Additionally, as a Redaptive Dive Instructor through RAID, he certifies adaptive dive students and their buddies, helping to make the underwater world accessible to all.
Gary holds multiple PADI and RAID certifications, including PADI Master Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Emergency First Response Instructor, Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor, Adaptive Techniques Specialties Instructor, Underwater Photographer Instructor, Underwater Navigator Instructor, Enriched Air (Nitrox) Instructor, Deep Diver Instructor, Boat Diver Instructor, Ocean Reef Integrated Mask Instructor, Wreck Dive Instructor, and Night Dive Instructor. His RAID certifications include Open Water 20, RAID Adaptive Open Water 20, RAID Advanced Open Water, and RAID Re-daptive Dive Buddy Course.
