Gulf Shores Fishing Report

Gulf Shores Fishing Report - June 2024 In Gulf Shores, fishing conditions are excellent as summer kicks off. Anglers targeting red snapper are reporting good catches offshore, especially around artificial reefs and deeper waters. King mackerel and Spanish mackerel are active closer to shore, with anglers having success using live bait and trolling near the reefs and along the Gulf State Park Pier. Speckled trout fishing remains steady in the bays and estuaries, particularly during early mornings and late evenings when they are feeding closer to the surface. Flounder are also being caught around the sandy bottoms and inlets. Weather conditions have been favorable, with mild winds and clear skies, making for comfortable fishing trips. Water temperatures are in the mid-70s Fahrenheit, ideal for a variety of species.

4 Hour Inshore Trip

We left from Fort Morgan Marina located in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The wind and current was perfect to fish the surf on the beach, so we decided to free line some live baits in the surf, and it paid off big time! The action was fast paced and non stop the entire time. We caught speckled trout, spanish mackerel, pompano amd whiting, all in the same spot! These fish can be found in the surf feeding in the rip currents. The sea weed is pretty bad, so we had to fish the live baits under a cork to prevent the sea weed from tangling the lines.

4hr AM Trip

The water temps are on the rise and the fish bite is heating up along with it! Fishing will only get better in the coming months, and dont have to travel far to get to them. Often times just minutes from the marina. Speckled trout, spanish mackerel, redfish, white trout, flounder, pompano, king mackerel, all can be found within a 15 minute ride from the dock.

4hr Am Trip

Started the day fishing in the Gulf of Mexico out of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our target species was Spanish Mackerel, and the action was fast and furious. These fish will hang around all summer long and can be found around any rigs in the gulf. We also caught a few sharks, blacktips, around 4 ft long. After we caught are limit of Spanish we headed back inshore to target speckled trout. We got lucky and found them on the first stop, fishing the rip currents on the beach. We also picked up a pompano and a whiting. Also got to see an aligator cruising around looking for breakfast! We finished the day with a limit of both Spanish and Trout.

defaultImg

4hr Afternoon Trip

The Speckled Trout bite is starting to heat up and will only get better as the water warms and the weather stabilizes. These fish can be found in shallow water very close to shore for the next few months. So if you dont like to travel far and fish calm water, this is the fish for you. We mainly target them with live baits under a cork. Gulf Shores has many varities of inshore fish that are delicious to eat, and the speckled trout ranks very high on that list.

4hr AM Rig Trip

Switched gears today and went and fished the rigs out of Gulf Shores, Alabama in the Gulf of Mexico. We were targeting Spanish Mackerel on light tackle. The action was nonstop and fast paced! We threw back more than we kept and stayed hooked up the entire trip! These fish will be around all summer longer and will only get bigger as time progresses.

defaultImg

4hr Afternoon Trip

We took advantage of the high tide on this afternoon trip and it paid off. We set out from Gulf Shores, Alabama in search of shallow water redfish. We found numerous fish in under 2 feet of water fishing in stumos and grass beds. Live shrimp 18 inches under a cork provided constant action. These fish will remain around until mid summer.

defaultImg

4hr Am Trip

Searching for flounder in shallow water. These fish are finally starting to make a rebound so we decided on catch and release. Gulf Shores has many different fishes to offer, but this one just happens to be my favorite! They can be found all year round.

defaultImg

4 Hour Near Shore Trip

While fishing for sheepshead on the rigs in the Gulf Of Mexico, we caught the largest sheepshead Ive ever landed. The record is 13.9lbs, this one was 12.7lbs! The previous record was 12.2lbs and stood up until 2021. Although it wasnt a record, its still a fish of a lifetime for one very lucky angler! Gulf Shores, Alabama has lots to offer in the inshore/nearshore fishery.

defaultImg

4hr Sheepshead Trip

The sheepsehead bite in Gulf Shores is in full swing. These fish can be found around any tupe of structure and will eat any type of crustecean. They arrive in late fall and stick around til the end of spring, when they lay their eggs and leave.

defaultImg

4 Hour Sheepshead Trip on the Gulf of Mexico

Great day on the Gulf of Mexico fishing out of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Spent all day targeting sheepshead and spanish Mackerel. They did not disappoint! Caught dozens of both, we kept enough for a few dinners and released the rest to fight another day! Gulf Shores has endless oppurtunities to get on some quality fish.

defaultImg

4hr Morning Trip

Great day chasing puppy drum in shallow water in the gulf coast. These guys couldnt help but to fill their bellies with the fresh shrimp we were providing. Puppy drum, aka black drum, can be found throughout the year in the coastal waters of Alabama. They can be caught on most any crustecean.

defaultImg

4 hour back bay

Cold and windy this morning, so we decided to stay close by and out of the wind. Definetly ended up paying off woth some nice speckled trout! We kept enough for dinner and released the rest. Fish were caught free lining live shrimp in 20ft of water. 48 degrees this morning and a 25mph North wind made for a cold but productive day of fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

defaultImg

Warm Weather Fishing

The weather has been warm here on the gulf coast but that hasnt stopped the fish from biting. We habe been finding quality fish in shallow water close to shore. Live shrimp fished under a cork has been the meal ticket for numerous speckled trout and redfish. Things change daily and we adjust to what mother nature throws at us here in Gulf Shores, Al.

defaultImg

Bull Red Trip

Went in search of bull reds today. We drifted the bar with fresh menhadden and produced several really nice fish. The Dixie Bar is famous for holding these large fish and they can be found there throughout most of the year.

Captain Ronnie was great!  He’s very knowledgeable about locations to fish as well as extremely patient with customers in terms of teaching skills (unfortunately we lost something like 5 fish when we were trying to reel them in…but we eventually got the hang of it and ended up with 7 fish to take home!) Ronnie has a quiet sense of humor and had us laughing much of the time!  Ronnie does a great job of keeping the boat clean & worked nonstop for us for the 3 hours we were fishing with him. He really went above and beyond to make it a fun experience for all of us…even picking up a jellyfish swimming by so as to teach us about the safe ways to touch them. We were also extremely thankful for the Bimini Top on his boat for some shade during the hot hours of the day!  Ronnie efficiently cleaned and bagged our fish for us after the trip. It was a great family experience! Thanks Ronnie!

Best guide we ever had. Knows his stuff

June 2, 2025

You want to be put on some fish, right? Look nowhere else. Make a reservation with Another Fish Charters and let the neighborhood Fish Whisperer guide you! This man is extremely knowledgable about all aspects of fishing and has been fishing in these areas since he was a grasshopper's height. He also knows these waterways like the back of his hand. All you have to do is turn up prepared to have a good time and let the Captain handle business! I promise you won't be let down! You can thank me afterwards (and if you are, that's on you; a "bad" day fishing is still better than a wonderful day at the office!) OH! & keep the bananas at home.

June 2, 2025

We spent the entire trip on the fish thanks to Capt. Ron's patience. Reserving again without a doubt! Thank you, Captain.
