Chasing Texas Bass: An Exhilarating Lake Travis Fishing Adventure

We had a fantastic day out on Lake Travis, chasing the elusive Largemouth Bass and a few other species. As a passionate fishing guide with Bass Tours ATX, I was excited to take Dave Henderson and his group of three out for a morning of Texas lake fishing trip. March is a prime time to target Largemouth Bass on Lake Travis, as the warming waters have them actively feeding and moving into their pre-spawn patterns. We met up at 2601 Cody Ave and headed out, taking advantage of the clear conditions throughout the day. Once on the water, we started working the lake with light tackle, covering different structure and depths to find the hot spots. It didn't take long before the action started heating up. We were into Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Black Bass, and even a few Florida Bass and White Bass. The Wiper, or Hybrid Striped Bass, were particularly feisty, putting up a great fight on our lightweight gear. Dave and the crew were all smiles, working their lures and flies with precision and enthusiasm. Between the steady bites and the camaraderie on the boat, the time flew by. Though we didn't manage to land any trophy-sized fish, it was still a day filled with great memories and plenty of quality catches. Spending a morning on the water, surrounded by the beautiful Texas scenery and chasing after some of the most exciting freshwater species, is what makes these Lake Travis fishing trips so special. If you're looking to experience the best bass fishing in the heart of Texas, I'd highly recommend booking a trip with Bass Tours ATX. Whether you're an experienced angler or just getting started, we'll make sure you have an unforgettable time on the water. Let's get you out here and onto some Texas bass!

We had a really great time! Wyatt was professional and friendly and knowledgeable.  I recommend his Bass Tour experience. We made a fun memory and we made dinner last night after filleting the Bass we caught!

July 10, 2025

Wyatt is awesome! One of the best guides I’ve ever had… Took out our 14-year-old boys and Slade looked the further book this young man as a fishing guide for Central Texas

July 10, 2025

Wyatt is an amazing guide and angler he knows the best spots. His boat and gear are top notch. I highly recommend them.

July 10, 2025

Captain Wyatt and I went out earlier this week for what was truly one of the most memorable fishing trips I’ve had. He asked what type of fishing I wanted to do and though I rarely keep fish, I told him I wanted to get some use out of my new vac seal. The cleanliness of the boat, the knowledge of the lake, the extremely technical electronics and so much more made for an incredible trip. We caught crappie, white bass, tons of largemouth, a few catfish and even this rare Lake Travis monster striped bass. Obviously got plenty of use out of my new vacuum sealer too! Thanks again Captain Wyatt! 10/10 will be hiring him again

July 10, 2025

Captain Wyatt was awesome! He took us out in what had to be the coldest day to fish. Super knowledgeable and knew exactly the great spots to go and catch some bass. Would highly recommend anyone to fish with Captain Wyatt.

July 10, 2025

We had a great time out in Lake Austin! Guaranteed to catch some big fish! Highly recommend booking a trip with Wyatt
