Today was a fantastic day out on the water with David Lord, taking him on a Peacock Bass Fishing | Guided Fishing In The Everglades adventure with Bass Whisper Guide. February is a prime time for bass fishing in this part of Florida, as the cooler temperatures and ample rainfall create ideal conditions for the fish to be active and feeding. We met up at 21940 Griffin Rd and got set up with all the right gear. The weather was perfect - clear skies, mild temperatures, and calm water. As we started working our way through the Everglades, it didn't take long before David's line started peeling off. He set the hook and was into his first Florida Bass of the day, a nice chunky one that put up a great fight. We continued working the area, and soon enough, he hooked into a beautiful Butterfly Peacock Bass, an amazing-looking fish with its vibrant colors and unique patterns. The action stayed steady, and David managed to land a few more Largemouth Black Bass, all healthy, eager biters. Between catches, we got to take in the beautiful Everglades scenery - the towering cypress trees draped in Spanish moss, the glimpses of wading birds and gators, and the peaceful, glassy water. It was just the perfect setting to spend a relaxing day chasing these incredible gamefish. David was all smiles the whole time, clearly loving the experience of targeting Peacock Bass and other species in this unique fishery. I had one of the best fishing experiences ever today, bringing my best friend along for his very first trip with Captain JP Mcay. The day was full of laughs, learning, and nonstop fun, all while enjoying great weather and plenty of hungry fish. It was also my first time fishing on a boat, and it couldn’t have gone better. Captain JP is not only a fantastic guide but also a teacher and entertainer who makes you feel comfortable and sets you up for success.
