Charles Humphrey III, the founder of Beast Coast Anglers LLC, began his fly fishing journey as a teenager and has since made the waters of Western North Carolina his home after relocating to Asheville in 1999. His love for fly fishing has taken him on a musical journey across various states, including Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon, Alaska, and Canada. Alongside his fly fishing pursuits, Charles is a Grammy award-winning songwriter/producer, an accomplished ultra-runner having completed the Western States 100, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, and a dedicated father of two. His life is a harmonious blend of spreading joy through music and the tranquility of fly fishing.

The 14' Porta-Bote Hull is a lightweight and versatile option for fishing charters, capable of supporting up to 807 pounds (367 kg) while weighing just 97 pounds (43.6 kg) itself, making it half the weight of an aluminum hull. Its shallow draft of just 4 inches (11.4 cm) allows it to float in minimal water depths, and it can accommodate an engine weight of up to 40.5 kg with a maximum of 9.9 hp, making it ideal for a variety of fishing excursions.
