Ben O'fishal Sportfishing

We had an amazing 3/4 day trip and caught plenty of fish! Ben and Alex were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they were fantastic with our two teenage boys. We reeled in tons of yellowtail snapper, a few large mutton snapper, a giant Amberjack, and more! We also hooked a couple of sailfish, though we didn’t land one. The boat was very comfortable, with shaded areas to relax (perfect for my son, who loves taking boat naps) and a functional head, which is always a plus on longer trips. It was a great experience, and we’ll definitely book again on our next trip to Marathon!

I had heard from locals in Marathon, FL, and other charter captains that the mahi fishing had been slow for a while when we were in town. So, I wasn’t expecting an epic day when we went out on a full-day charter with Captain Ben. To my surprise, we were on fish right away. At one point, we had five fish on at the same time – it was pure chaos in the best way! Often, when the action starts off so hot, it dies down later in the day, but not for us. Captain Ben kept finding fish all day. When the humps slowed and we were catching smaller fish, we moved to better spots and landed bigger catches. We ended up with more than 50 mahi and kept our limit of 20. The fish tacos that night, made with fresh filets, were the best I’ve ever had. We made a silly mistake by leaving the key to our rental car back at the house, but Captain Ben went above and beyond by driving us home. Huge thanks to Captain Ben for not only an incredible fishing day but for his kindness in helping us out. A big thank you to Brutus Seafood Market for vacuum sealing, freezing, and shipping our catch to Indiana. It tasted just as fresh as the day we caught it! Cooking our mahi with friends at home has been a blast, especially since we don’t get fresh mahi in Indiana.

I booked this trip as a birthday gift for my wife and went with a group of friends, and it turned out to be an incredible experience for all of us! Captain Ben and his mate Alex were incredibly accommodating, hospitable, and, most importantly, knowledgeable. We were hooked on fish nonstop, one after another. Once we were finished, they cleaned and scaled the fish for us, even offering great recommendations on how to cook it and who could ship our catch back home. The boat was fantastic as well. I highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for an amazing fishing adventure!

We had an awesome morning fishing with Captain Ben Zdan and Alex. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to fish in the Keys! We caught our limit of Yellowtail and even landed a decent-sized Amberjack. We had a few other Amberjacks on the line, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get them in the boat fast enough. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’ll definitely be booking with Captain Ben again in the future!

Ben and Alex are true pros and got us onto some great fish! The boat is very clean and comfortable and their gear is in great shape. They even worked together with one of the other Main Attraction boats to find us fish. We did the three quarter day, and that was perfect for my son and I. I would would highly recommend Ben and Alex.

Captain Ben is not only incredibly knowledgeable in every aspect of sport fishing in the Keys, but he is also kind, patient, and fun to be around! He’s always helpful and never gives up. Throughout the day, Ben had us hooked on a variety of fish, including beautiful Blackfin Tunas, Mutton Snappers, Amberjacks, and even a trophy Sailfish! His expertise and great attitude made the experience unforgettable.
