For avid anglers, Lake Erie offers year-round opportunities to target Walleye, starting from late March and extending through Thanksgiving, with some die-hard enthusiasts fishing into early December. Our primary fishing technique for Ohio Walleye is trolling, but we also enjoy casting and drift fishing to vary the experience. Lake Erie is renowned for its Walleye, with Fish Ohio category Walleye commonly reaching over 28" and weighing in at an impressive 9 to 13 pounds. In the coming years, you can expect the average Walleye size to be between 18" and 24". Your adventure will take you to both open waters and the hidden reef structures in shallow and deep waters. While Walleye are the stars of the show, you can also target Yellow Perch and Smallmouth Bass, making your trip even more diverse and exciting.
To make your experience hassle-free, Captain David provides all the necessary fishing equipment, so there's no need to rent any gear. Simply obtain your fishing license, and bring along your preferred snacks and drinks. About me:
It all started with my dad. My best memories involved waking up early, being down to the docks to catch the sun rise, heading out past the Lake Erie Islands and spending the day together chasing walleye. Now I love helping other people create those memories with their own family and friends.

Non-stop bites all day long! That's how I'd sum up our summer fishing adventure with Josiah and their crew on Lake Erie. We set out early in the morning from Lakeside Marblehead, OH, with partly cloudy skies overhead. The water conditions at East Harbor State Park were perfect for what we had planned. As we headed out with Black H2o Dog Charters, I could tell it was going to be a great day on the lake. Once the stage was set, we got down to business. While we didn't land any trophy fish this time, the constant action kept us engaged and having fun. That's the beauty of fishing - sometimes it's not about the size of the catch, but the experience of being out on the water. We wrapped up our day with smiles all around, even though we didn't stick any trophies. The crew seemed to enjoy the non-stop action and the chance to try different fishing methods. Dan and Daniel long time repeat customer here from Southern California wanted a Walleye meal before heading home. Goal one was accomplished in quick order. 3/4 oz casting harnesses 10 count. We worked water that is easily reachable from their Sandusky location. Dan also wanted a little hands on setting Dipsey Divers and TruTrip 50s. I gave Dan and Daniel a refresher and they went to work. Jointed Storm was the hot bait. 36 back on 3 setting. BADMO LURES Arrowhead spinners on Dipsey 1.5 30 back and 40 back on TruTrip 50s. Speed was 2.5 mph. #BlackH2oDog #lakeeriewalleye #lakelife #letsgofishing #cedarpoint #lakeside #charterfishing #fatherson
Late Friday evening reach out by Trenton and Kendra who were wrapping up a week at the Lake Erie Islands area. We left West Harbor just before sunrise with a bright full moon in the Western sky. Trenton had the hot hand to start us off casting a 3/4 worm harness with a gold blade on a 10 count. It was about 6 to 1 on fish mostly around 14.5" to get a 16" to 19" keeper. As the sun climbed in the sky Kendra got hot and they both worked hard to capture their Lake Erie Walleye. We battled with pesky white perch. We found a really fast retrieve aided in keeping white perch at bay and the Walleye didn't mind. Seems, I don't get may good pics on casting days. Fish cleaner was at the docks when we arrived, so no fish pics today. #BlackH2oDog #lakeeriewalleye #letsgofishing #charterfishing #portclinton #walleye
Hot bite and happy crew! I had the pleasure of taking David and their crew out on a fantastic afternoon trip with Black H2o Dog Charters in Lakeside Marblehead, OH. As summer settled in, we set out from East Harbor State Park under partly cloudy skies. The morning rain had cleared, leaving us with perfect conditions for our 4-hour Walleye adventure. Launching at 3:00 pm gave us the ideal window to target the evening bite. The water at East Harbor looked promising, and I was eager to put my years of experience on these waters to work for David and their crew. Black H2o Dog Charters always aims to deliver the best experience, and this trip was shaping up to be no exception. With our gear rigged and ready, we wasted no time getting to the prime spots. I employed a mix of techniques to give us the best shot at success. We started with some trolling, covering water efficiently to locate active fish. As we moved through different areas, we switched it up with some bottom fishing, targeting the structure where walleye often hold. I also had the crew casting crankbaits, a technique that can be deadly effective when the walleye are aggressive. Throughout the afternoon, we worked these methods, adjusting our approach based on the conditions and fish behavior. While we didn't land any trophies on this outing, the experience was about much more than just the catch. David and their crew got to witness firsthand the beauty of Lake Erie and the surrounding area. The partly cloudy skies provided a stunning backdrop as we fished, and the post-rain freshness in the air added to the day's appeal. We wrapped up the trip with great time and smiles all around, having enjoyed a perfect afternoon on the water. For anyone looking to experience the thrill of walleye fishing on Lake Erie, I can't recommend our 4 Hour Walleye (PM) Trip with Black H2o Dog Charters enough. Whether you're an experienced angler or new to the sport, Lakeside Marblehead, OH offers some of the best walleye fishing opportunities you'll find. Our afternoon trips are particularly popular, as they often coincide with increased feeding activity. We provide all the necessary gear and expertise, so you can focus on enjoying your time on the water. From trolling to bottom fishing and casting crankbaits, we use a variety of techniques to maximize your chances of success. Even on days when the fish aren't cooperating, the experience of being out on Lake Erie is unforgettable. The ever-changing conditions and stunning views make every trip unique. Over the weekend, we had an epic day of walleye fishing with Captain David. Our group of four limited out with several in the mid-20s and one 28.5-inch beast that was a blast to reel in. I'm not sure I've seen such a hard-working and knowledgeable Captain, and the proof was in the consistent mixing up of techniques, lure selection, and programs we used throughout a very productive day. Captian David is smart, funny, and helpful, advising passengers at every experience level. Lake Erie walleye fishing has a reputation for healthy and abundant fish; we saw that firsthand. We'll be back! I highly recommend booking a charter with Black H2o Dog.

We had an incredible experience with David at Black H2o Dog Charters! From booking to the end of our walleye fishing trip, everything was smooth and enjoyable. David was professional, friendly, and made sure everyone had a great time. My 13-year-old great nephew even got to help set up the fishing poles and drive the boat, which made his day! We caught the max number of Walleye and made wonderful memories. Highly recommend for a fun and family-friendly fishing adventure!

The conditions were tough, but Captain David never stopped working to put fish in the boat. He's the hardest working Captain on the water. I highly recommend David Fuller.

David, was a great captain. He knows the lake. He knows the fish. No matter what season. He was very friendly, took time to educate us while we were fishing. Would definitely recommend to any one for a great time on the lake.

Had a fantastic time with Captain Faller. We started the day at 6 am and started fishing after getting to spot. David was very knowledgeable and worked well with both boys and adults. We all had a great time and got our limit (as you can see with the pictures). We all learned a bunch and enjoyed it immensely. Would definitely us Captain Faller again.

First ever Lake Erie fishing trip and it was perfect!! Capt Dave prepped us for what to bring and what to expect. The day exceeded everyone’s expectations! From unusually low humidity/temperature in middle of July to glassy lake and lots of hungry walleye! Dave knew the best spot and once he had us setup we were reeling in the fish. The entire trip was fantastic and Dave taught us a few things about fishing and the local Lake Erie landmarks. Really, REALLY, want to go again but our trip was so perfect I’m not sure how we top it!
