Frank Branagan
Branarchy Charters welcomes you to Barnegat Light, New Jersey, a productive stretch of the Jersey Shore known for both inshore and offshore opportunities. Captain Frank Branagan brings more than 30 years of experience to every trip and focuses on creating a comfortable, hands-on fishing day for anglers of all skill levels. Whether you’re new to saltwater fishing or already experienced, you’ll receive clear guidance, practical instruction, and steady support throughout the trip.
You’ll fish aboard a 30’ Sea Hunt Gamefish center console built for safety, range, and comfort. The boat carries up to six guests and is equipped with modern electronics, outriggers, and a private toilet. Quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included, and live bait is provided when needed. Once the trip is over, your catch will be cleaned and bagged so you can bring it home ready for the table.
Barnegat Light offers a wide seasonal variety of species. Depending on the time of year, you may target Striped Bass, Fluke, Tautog, Black Sea Bass, Mahi Mahi, Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna, False Albacore, Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, and even sharks. Techniques change with conditions and species and may include spinning, drifting, trolling, bottom fishing, or kite fishing. Captain Frank explains each approach so guests understand not only what to do, but why it works.
Family groups are always welcome, and children are encouraged to participate. Captain Frank enjoys introducing first-time anglers to fishing and helping kids land their first catch. Shorter trips are available for beginners and younger guests who want a relaxed introduction to being on the water.
All required fishing permits are covered by the charter, so no individual license is needed. Guests should bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), drinks, and snacks. Alcohol is permitted in moderation, though glass bottles and hard liquor should be avoided. If you plan to bring a cooler for your fillets, please leave it in your vehicle until returning to the dock.
From spring migrations through fall action, Branarchy Charters provides a reliable, friendly day on the water with personal instruction and genuine local knowledge of the Barnegat Light fishery.
