Captain Billy Baxley has had a lifelong passion for fishing, beginning in his childhood. His enthusiasm for the sport only grew as he gained more knowledge, leaving him "hooked" on fishing. For years, he has enjoyed not only fishing but also sharing his expertise with others. Step aboard his 26-foot deep haul MayCraft boat, powered by a Yamaha Motor, and equipped with the latest fish-finding technology. Captain Billy provides everything you need for a great day on the water, including fishing tackle, bait, ice, fuel, and plenty of laughter – you just need to bring the desire to create new memories.
Ocean Isle offers beautiful scenery and is home to a wide variety of fish species, such as king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, sea trout, and many more. With Captain Baxley’s extensive experience on these waters, he can share insights about local fishing conditions. The area is also known for Amberjack, Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Almaco Jack, African Pompano, King Mackerel, Redfish, Black Seabass, and more – if you're lucky, you'll reel in a few of these species!
During your trip, you might engage in different techniques such as spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, or bottom fishing, depending on the conditions. Families are welcome, and kids will have a great time fishing aboard the charter, which provides life vests for safety.
Captain Baxley’s 26’ MayCraft center console has space for four passengers and features outriggers, downriggers, and all the equipment necessary for a successful day of fishing. He also provides rods, reels, and lures, as well as live bait when available. Before your trip, be sure to purchase a local fishing license, and be aware that some species may require special tags or be protected.
Don't forget to pack essentials like sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and snacks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid bringing hard liquor or glass bottles.
