Book with Karty Sills
Stalking Reds and Seatrout in the tranquil Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River has been my lifelong passion.
Hi, I’m Capt. Karty, and I’ve been providing top-tier fishing charters in the beautiful Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River since 1991. With decades of experience, I’m more excited than ever to help anglers of all levels have the best fishing adventure possible. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, I guarantee you’ll have an unforgettable experience on the water.
Located just south of New Smyrna Beach and an hour from Orlando, Mosquito Lagoon offers some of the finest inshore fishing around. Known for its crystal-clear waters and diverse wildlife, it’s the perfect place to chase down redfish, seatrout, snook, and much more. Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for providing personalized charters that focus on giving you the best chances at a memorable catch.
I hold my Merchant Mariner Credentials from the U.S. Coast Guard since ‘91, and I’ve been lucky to have held a Special Use Permit from the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge for over 15 years, allowing us access to some of the most pristine fishing areas in Florida.
My boat is a 19-foot tunnel hull that makes navigating the shallow waters of the lagoon a breeze. It skims right over the water and allows us to reach areas that are otherwise difficult to access. Whether you’re fishing for redfish, seatrout, or snook, this boat gets us to the perfect spots fast and comfortably, with room for up to 4 passengers.
Fishing the Mosquito Lagoon and backwaters is an experience that’s different from the usual offshore fishing trip. With no seasickness, the action is constant, and you’ll stay busy reeling in redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and even tarpon during the right season. You may also run into flounder, jack crevalle, ladyfish, sheepshead, and mangrove snapper, depending on the time of year.
One of my favorite parts of the job is helping families make lifelong memories and watching novices improve their fishing skills while enjoying the excitement of the sport. I provide everything you need for a successful trip — rods, reels, bait, and tackle. All you need to bring is sunglasses, sunscreen, beverages, and snacks to stay comfortable throughout the day.
Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River are some of the best fishing grounds in Florida, and they’re waiting for you to come experience them. Come fish with me, and let’s make some memories together!
