Action-packed day from the get-go! I took Tom out for a 4-hour inshore trip with Captain Zach's Fishing Charter in Savannah, GA this fall. We launched bright and early at 8:00 am, greeted by clear skies that promised a perfect day on the water. The conditions around Tybee Island and Wilmington Island were ideal for our target species. As we motored out, I filled Tom in on our game plan for the day, aiming to make the most of our time on this 4 Hour Trip – Inshore adventure. The crisp November air had a hint of excitement as we prepared to showcase why Captain Zach's Fishing Charter offers the best experience in these waters. With our gear rigged and ready, we kicked things off with some bottom fishing, a technique that's often productive in these parts. We mixed it up throughout the morning, alternating between trolling and casting to cover more water and target different areas. Our persistence paid off when Tom hooked into a solid sheepshead. After a good fight, we brought a 22-inch beauty over the gunwale – a respectable catch that put a smile on both our faces. Sheepshead can be tricky to hook, so landing one this size was definitely a highlight of our trip. The rest of our time flew by as we continued to work different spots, always keeping an eye out for signs of fish. It was another great day out on the water with Denell and their crew for our Private Inshore Fishing Trip down in Daufuskie Island. June is a prime time for inshore action in these parts, with the warmer waters bringing the summer gamefish like Summer Flounder, Sheepshead, and Southern Flounder closer to the shore. We met up at the usual spot in Savannah, GA and headed out around 4:00 PM under partly cloudy skies. As soon as we got the lines in the water, the rods started bending. Denell was the first to hook up, battling a feisty Sheepshead that put up one heck of a fight before we got it in the boat. The rest of the crew stayed busy too, working a mix of deep sea, jigging, and light tackle techniques to target the different species. We landed some nice Summer Flounder and Southern Flounder, and even had a few Black Drum come unbuttoned after some intense runs. The fishing stayed steady throughout the afternoon, with plenty of action to keep everyone engaged. In between catches, we took in the sights of the Daufuskie Island coastline and swapped stories from past trips. It's always a good time when you get to spend the day fishing with a fun group like this, and today was no exception. The variety of species and techniques made it a well-rounded trip, and I think everyone left feeling satisfied with the day's work. Captain Zach was AMAZING!! So professional, kind, personable, and fun! He asked us the night before if we minded delaying our parting time due to tide issues and high winds. He felt that a delay would ensure would a better chance of us catching fish. We agreed to delay and I’m so happy we did! He went above and beyond for us and we appreciated everything he did. I highly recommend him! 10/10 stars! Thank you again Captain Zach!
