Man John crushed it today!! Left me with 4 baits left. We got on a good pattern early and dropped the hammer on em. Blue post spawn in full swing, flatheads not so much. Finished the day with 20 fish and 30# big fish!
What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! Summer fishing at High Rock Lake near Mocksville, NC is always a treat, and this trip with Cats on the Rock Guide Service was no exception. We set out early in the morning from Tamarac Marina, ready to chase some catfish. The weather was partly cloudy, with a chance of storms later in the day, but that didn't dampen our spirits one bit. John and I were eager to see what the lake had in store for us as we embarked on our 6-hour charter with Cats on the Rock Guide Service. Once the stage was set, we got down to business, employing a mix of bottom fishing, trolling, and crankbaiting techniques. These methods are perfect for targeting the variety of catfish species that call High Rock Lake home. Our efforts paid off as we managed to land some nice catches throughout the day. The highlight reel included a 15-inch Channel Catfish and an 11-inch Flathead Catfish. While we didn't land any monster Blue Cats this time, their presence in the lake always adds an element of excitement to every cast. The Township of Providence area of the lake proved to be a productive spot for us. As we worked different areas, I shared some local knowledge about the lake's structure and how it influences catfish behavior. John seemed to pick up the techniques quickly, and we had a steady stream of action throughout the morning. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, satisfied with our catches and the overall experience on High Rock Lake. If you're thinking about coming out for some catfishing action in North Carolina, I'd love to have you aboard for a trip with Cats on the Rock Guide Service. Our 6-hour charters on High Rock Lake are perfect for anglers of all skill levels looking to target Flathead, Blue, and Channel Catfish. We provide all the gear and knowledge you need for a successful day on the water. Been really busy so here are some catches from the last couple of months
had a great time with Dwayne and crew. we put over 20 fish in the boat with a few nice blue catfish and a solid Flathead on the day. the next few months should be wide open as fish prepared to spawn and the water temperatures heat up and the bite will heat up as well
Had Kari And crew out today on the G3, man I'm tired we stopped counting after 20, caught a few good ones. We caught them everywhere we went. Left them biting again today. Thank you all for fishing with me! I really appreciate the support!!
Man these guys sure had a great day today! Took a min to get on a pattern but once we did we left em feeding and finished the day with 17fish over the rails of the G3. Spring has sprung this week is gonna have these fish even more fired up.!! Thanks Dustin Newell, Chance and Spencer for fishing with us. Now time to re group and get focused on tomorrow's Charter trip!!

Got out today ahead of the storm to do a little looking, a little fishing and worked on some YouTube stuff il try to have out by tomorrow.Bait for me was up on the flats this morning there were schools of good sized gizzard shad crusing on 10-11ft of water.Fishing i focused on water from 15ft to 4 ftFinished the day with 18fish over the rails of the G3 with a few good ones in the mix!
We started the day with some classic fishing techniques, working different areas of the lake to find where the fish were holding. It didn't take long before the rods started bending, and we were into some nice Blue catfish. These fish really put up a fight, making strong runs and testing our drag. It was an absolute blast getting them in the boat. We kept at it, mixing up our approaches and trying different spots, and the action stayed steady all day. In between the catfish bites, we got to take in the beautiful lake scenery and enjoy the peaceful setting. The trip had a great vibe from start to finish. Warren was a pleasure to fish with, and his expertise really shone through in how we were able to locate and land fish all day long. The 8 hours went by in a flash, but we came away with plenty of memories and some delicious catfish fillets to take home. That's what makes these trips so special—not just the thrill of catching fish, but the overall experience of being out on the water, surrounded by natural beauty, and creating incredible moments you'll never forget. Had another father and son trip on High Rock Lake today. Today's mission was to fill the coolers so that's exactly what we did. It was pretty cool to be a part of there yearly two day fishing trip. These guys have fished all over the country, thanks for putting your faith in us to get those coolers full!!http://www.youtube.com/@Catsontherockguideservice
Man i never take days like these for granted. Set out to keep up with the fish I found on Friday not sure how the bite would be, with all the fronts and rain etc, only constant has been warm. Bait is still at Flat swamp but took a little bit to dial them in.After that I had action from 830 to 230, multiple doubles almost some tripples, and lots of quality fish in the mix. Finished the day with 37 fish over the rails! What an awesome fishery we are blessed with. Spring is around the corner if you want to go fish visit us at www.catsontherockguideservice.comFor rates and booking.
I originally had a trip planned for today, but with the potential for rain and 30mph winds we rescheduled. With that being said I had already planned to fish so....Started the day in the deep end, if your looking for shad one throw of the Fishin Fuel 10ft net,( taped) In 40ft of water will load you up near flat swamp.I have not been in over three weeks, between the cold, snow and Ice there were a lot of good fish in the deep end, but with so much bait productivity was at a minimum. With the few warm days and low water I made a switch and fished 2-10ft today and it paid off big time, put a total of 30 blue Cats and a few channels in the boat. Lots of these were quality fish to. All were released to get bigger!Warmest water today 44 degrees
What a great day out on the lake with the crew from Cats on the Rock Guide Service! April Gregory and her family joined me for a 4-hour fishing trip at the Tamarac Marina, and we had a wonderful time. The conditions were perfect - the water was calm, and the overcast skies kept things comfortable as we trolled, baitcast, and drift fished our way around the lake. Using a variety of heavy tackle techniques, we managed to land a nice haul of channel catfish and blue catfish. The kids were thrilled to reel in fish after fish, and I even got some great photos and videos to capture the memories. It was a real pleasure taking April and her family out on the water today. They were eager to learn and get hands-on with the fishing, and I could tell they were having a blast. The ratecard for this 4-hour trip is perfect for those looking to stock up on fresh fillets or just enjoy a relaxing day of quality time together on the lake. If you're looking to plan your next fishing adventure, I'd highly recommend giving the Cats on the Rock Guide Service a call. With our expert guidance and beautiful lakes like Tamarac, we can help you create lasting memories out on the water. Whether you're an experienced angler or bringing the whole family, we've got the perfect trip to suit your needs. I look forward to seeing you on the lake soon!

Great Guide. As promissed, he found those catfish. He was great to spend the time to teach how to catch more. He knew the lake and where the fish should be and if not, he said time to move then we found a lot. Great personality. Made the trip fun for both me and my son.

Our trip with Mark was a surprise for me from my son, Blake. He called one night and asked what I was doing. I told him watching this guy, Mark, on the internet talk about catfishing on High Rock Lake! Well the next thing I knew, 2 weeks later I was sitting in Mark’s boat. Mark was outstanding. I been fishing High Rock Lake on my own boat for a 3-4 years. Trying to learn more about the lake and the techniques that catch fish throughout the year. It definitely changes. Mark was the most informative guide I have ever fished with. I learned so much, from catching bait, tying rigs, to understanding the Thermocline. We started out the day with a few take downs from smaller fish. Caught a decent flathead. Then we started looking for some Hawgs. We tried a few areas anchored with not much luck. Then we started trolling. Next thing you know we had 20+lb Blue in the boat. We trolled for the rest of the day and caught several more fish. Most were 12lbs to 18lbs and of course a few rats!!!LOL. The fishing was great. But the thrill for me was learning from Mark so I can catch more fish on my boat!!! Thanks again Mark!!!!!! Thanks to my son Blake for the taking his Dad fishing!!! I Love you son!!!
