The full day charters allow enough time to try a couple assorted styles of fishing to increase your odds at multiple species. Just by being on the water for a full day, your odds of a great catch improve because the captain has time to change locations, or fishing techniques and go further if the fishing has changed from the day before.

While many of the species in the gulf are suitable for the table (everyone’s taste is different) there are other species that are more for sport and put up a good fight. Anything is possible on a full day trip – King mackerel, cobia, dolphin fish, barracuda, bonito, wahoo, amberjack, trigger fish, flounder, red snapper, Vermillion snapper, lane snapper, grouper and more. We cannot guarantee what fish will be biting, these are all species you might catch by trusting your captain to know what is biting the best.

Your rods, reels, tackle and bait are all inclusive in the fee. You will also have a large icebox (with ice), drinks (water) on board. Jim berg operations of his first charter company in 1982 operating out of Galveston, TX. After many years of operating a successful service company he and his wife decided to re-enter the charter business operating as Fishing Charters Galveston. His wife had family ties to the US Merchant fleet and had grown to love the water. Thier son and grandsons have joined Jim at Fishing Charters Galveston making this a true family business with three generations of avid fishermen.

The staff and crew of Fishing Charters Galveston have provided a level of service that has consistently exceeded the expectations of their clients. Because of the company’s attention to detail, quality work and customer service, Fishing Charters Galveston has earned an outstanding reputation.

As a company, we have always believed in the old saying,

“Give the customer what they want”. Following the request of repeat clients we now provide other services in addition to our charters. The expanded list of services now includes Dolphin Tours as well as Kemah Boardwalk Firework Tours.

DEPOSIT: A deposit is required for all bookings and will be applied at checkout

BALANCE: The remaining balance is due on the trip date as either Credit or Cash.

GUEST CANCELLATION: In the event that you must cancel your booking, you must do so 1 days prior to your trip date to receive a refund on your deposit. Rescheduling is encouraged and dependent on guide availability.

GUIDE CANCELLATION: In the rare event that your guide must cancel due to inclement weather, health, or equipment issues, you will have the option to reschedule your charter for a later date or receive a refund on your deposit.

We took three graduating teenage boys out for a blue water fishing adventure, and Captain Jim Berg delivered an unforgettable experience. All the boys caught fish, including a shark. The two first mates were fantastic, ensuring bait was always on the hooks and the hooks stayed in the water. They also provided excellent advice to the boys on landing their catches, which is quite different from lake fishing. The four adults thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride as well. It was our first time venturing into blue water, and it turned out to be a wonderful trip for everyone. We’d love to come back. A big thanks to Captain Jim Berg and the crew!
