Captain Joe was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, knowing exactly where to find the walleye! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend this charter. It was especially exciting for my son, who caught walleye for the first time. We're looking forward to cooking it up!

My son and I have been visiting Vermillion every year since he was born, but this time, our 15-year-old wanted to try something different: a fishing charter! After looking at reviews, prices, and locations, we found Captain Sloppy Joe. It turned out to be a memorable experience. There was no shortage of action on the boat! The captain had us catching fish throughout the 4-plus hours on the water. We landed 11 legal-sized Walleye (just one short of the limit) and a perch. Although we caught many more fish, they were either too small (Walleye, which we don't eat), too big (sheephead), or a few big Catfish. So, we were constantly reeling in something. The trip was truly amazing. The captain put in a lot of effort to make our experience enjoyable. I don’t think I even got my hands dirty. With 6 poles set at various depths on the charter, there was never a dull moment. There was always something to do or reel in! The captain took us to some prime spots away from other boats, demonstrating his excellent knowledge of the area. He was also incredibly fun, had a great personality, and interacted with us throughout. He gave us some valuable pointers and shared interesting history and facts about Vermillion and fishing that I had no idea about. I booked this trip based on the reviews, and I hope this review will give you the confidence to book with Captain Sloppy Joe! The boat is small enough that you will feel the waves, but other than that, there were really no issues.

Joe guided us to the fish. Although it was a bit choppy initially, he navigated us to calmer waters. He discussed his fishing strategy and how he locates the fish. My boys had a great time too. We would definitely book with him again.

Our fishing trip was fantastic. Captain Joe's knowledge and experience in this fishing area were evident. We caught a total of 15 walleye, not including the small ones we released. The largest one we landed weighed 5 lbs 6 oz!
