Cape Coral Fishing Report – Recent Catches & Conditions Fishing in Cape Coral has remained productive despite challenging weather conditions, with frequent fronts and strong winds stirring up the waters. Anglers have still found success targeting inshore species, proving that persistence pays off even when the weather doesn’t cooperate. The bite has been steady, and those who have adjusted their techniques to the conditions have been rewarded with some great catches. Redfish & Black Drum Biting Well Redfish action has been consistent, with solid numbers of slot-sized red drum caught around mangrove shorelines and grass flats. Live shrimp and cut bait have been the go-to choices, while artificial lures worked slowly have also been producing results. Along with redfish, black drum have been making a strong showing near docks, bridges, and deep channels. These fish have been favoring crustacean baits like shrimp and crab, especially in areas with moving tides. Best Tactics for Windy Conditions With the constant fronts and unpredictable winds, anglers have found success by seeking out wind-protected areas and fishing deeper channels where fish are holding tight. Slow presentations and natural baits have been key in enticing bites. As the weather stabilizes, the fishing should only continue to improve, making it a great time to get out on the water. Fishing has been good for quality speckled trout while wade fishing.
Fishing continues to be great!
Yesterday, Tim, Steve, and Conner accompanied me on an epic fishing adventure in Corpus Christi. We set out early in the morning with high hopes of reeling in some big catches, and boy did we deliver! The weather was perfect - sunny skies and calm waters made for ideal fishing conditions. We targeted sea trout and black drum, two popular species in the area known for their scrumptious taste.
Water has been out and high pressure has moved in making fishing tough. Water should be returning soon as we will also have a few mild fronts heading in.
Seeing a lot of Reds these days in Corpus Christi! The tug is the drug! Didn’t want to be greedy so he kept these two and released many more. Good times on the water!
with water temperatures starting to drop the fishing is definitely starting to heat up! Big trout are beginning to make their appearance. he trout bite is definitely getting better nd bigger fish are more active.
The weather is looking good and fishing should be good.

We had two first-timers on the boat, and both landed plenty of fish. The 7-year-old even caught a huge trout!
