We booked a guide through Duranglers and will definitely do it again! We had a half-day float trip with our guide, Les, for our first fly fishing experience. Les was an excellent teacher—very patient and encouraging. He worked hard to get us on fish, and we ended up catching a ton. In hindsight, we wish we had stuck with our original plan for a full-day trip!

We were visiting from Georgia and wanted to give our 16-year-old son a true fly fishing adventure. Neither he nor his dad had any prior fly fishing experience and were a bit nervous about wading in unfamiliar waters. Ben took them down to the San Juan River, and they had an incredible day. He taught them the basics and got them right on the fish. They loved the River and caught so many beautiful fish. Ben was patient, fun to be with, and took plenty of great photos. He even spent extra time with them as they were having such a great time. We highly recommend Duranglers for both beginners and experienced fly fishers. It was an unforgettable day they will always cherish.

Thom was our guide, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day on the river. He was friendly, engaging, and an incredible storyteller. We were genuinely sad when the day came to an end. Thom taught us so much about casting and reading the river. His instruction was always positive and encouraging, never leaving us feeling frustrated. We caught plenty of fish and had many more bites throughout the day. Thom has a beautiful new boat arriving around June 1st, so if you float with him, expect top-notch service. And he makes a mean chicken and Swiss sandwich! The guides all know each other, ensuring that everyone has their own piece of the river. Make sure to check in a day early or inquire about purchasing your fishing license online to save time. Their rental gear is top-quality.
