Big thanks to Marcel!

Brito was incredibly accommodating. He was prepared and ready to go before we even arrived, with all the equipment set up for fishing as soon as we hit the water. We caught several big fish and had an amazing time!

The weather was a bit rough, but Marcel did an excellent job putting us on the fish. We caught a couple of Jack Crevalle and Barracuda. He even took us snorkeling. It was a fantastic experience!

I planned this trip as a surprise because I wanted my husband to have a genuine fishing experience—not a fancy, impersonal one. We brought our two boys who also love fishing. Unfortunately, all of us except my husband got really seasick, and we had to move to shallower waters just to get by. The captain was incredibly thoughtful, even giving us a break to help us feel better. While my husband didn’t land the big catch he dreamed of, he’ll definitely be back—this time, probably solo! Excellent communication from booking to the day of the trip. Quick response time and very helpful throughout the process. While he and his crew member don’t speak English, using Google Translate worked well. We had a great time on a comfortable boat—ideal for 2 people but manageable with 4.

I had a great day aboard the Elimar with Captain Marcel. I requested an earlier start than advertised, as I’ve always had the best luck fishing at sunrise. While we didn’t head out as early as I’d hoped, Marcel kindly adjusted the schedule. I was picked up at 6:20 a.m. by Valentin, a driver arranged by Marcel at a reasonable rate (slightly cheaper than the hotel). Valentin was punctual and organized, waiting for me at the end of the trip and offering both cash and card payment options, which was very convenient. Captain Marcel was a true professional, frequently changing lures and replacing partially eaten baitfish (likely cut by barracuda). He kept me updated on the plan, shared stories of past catches, and demonstrated a strong knowledge of the local fishing grounds. We landed our first catch about an hour in—a Wahoo around 8 kg (1.3 m long). Marcel mentioned it was smaller than the one caught the day before, but I was thrilled to catch my first Wahoo. As we approached the main fishing grounds, we caught four smaller barracuda and a small albacore tuna. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any bites in the final hours, but that’s fishing! Marcel’s English is a bit limited, but he made a strong effort and used his phone to translate when needed, so communication was never an issue. Overall, I highly recommend Marcel and the Elimar. He worked hard to find fish, demonstrated excellent local knowledge, and offered a reasonably priced trip compared to other options in the area. I even reached out to him later for the driver’s contact information, which he provided promptly, helping me on another day of my vacation. I tried to book another trip before heading home, but he was fully booked. That speaks volumes about his reputation. I’m looking forward to returning for another adventure!
