Lake Texoma Fishing Guides | Private 5-Hour Trip
Ready to experience some of the best striper fishing Texas has to offer? Lake Texoma is hands down one of the premier striped bass destinations in the country, and our private 5-hour fishing trips are designed to get you on the fish fast. Starting bright and early at 7:00 AM, you'll join Captain Travis for a dedicated fishing adventure that targets the Texoma striper limit of 10 fish per person. We're talking about real action here – the kind of fishing that keeps your rod bent and your drag screaming. Whether you're a weekend warrior who knows their way around a tackle box or someone just getting their feet wet in the fishing world, this trip delivers the goods. We fish hard for up to 5 hours or until everyone limits out, whichever comes first. Trust me, on Lake Texoma, limiting out happens more often than you'd think.
What to Expect on the Water
Lake Texoma isn't your typical farm pond – this massive reservoir sits right on the Texas-Oklahoma border and covers over 89,000 acres of prime striper habitat. When you step aboard our fully equipped fishing boat, you're getting access to some seriously productive water. The lake's structure is what makes it so special for striped bass fishing. We've got deep channels, submerged timber, rocky points, and plenty of open water where schools of stripers chase shad. The morning bite typically fires up just as the sun starts to peek over the horizon, which is why we get you out there early. You'll spend your day moving between proven spots, reading the electronics, and adjusting our approach based on what the fish are telling us. The beauty of a private charter is flexibility – if the fish are stacked up in 30 feet of water hitting bottom baits, that's where we'll focus. If they're suspended and feeding on drift fishing presentations, we'll adjust accordingly. Each trip accommodates up to 4 anglers, so you've got plenty of room to fish without getting tangled up with other folks.
Bottom Fishing & Drift Techniques
We run two main techniques on Lake Texoma that consistently produce limits of quality stripers. Bottom fishing is our bread and butter, especially when the fish are holding tight to structure or feeding on the bottom. We'll rig you up with the right weight to get your bait down to where the stripers are hanging out – usually somewhere between 20 and 40 feet depending on the season and conditions. The key is fresh bait and keeping it in the strike zone. We use quality circle hooks that hook fish in the corner of the mouth, making for easier releases if you want to throw some back. Drift fishing is where things get really exciting. When we mark schools of active stripers on the fish finder, we'll set up a drift pattern that lets us cover water and present baits at the right depth. The boat moves naturally with the wind and current while we work the school. When one rod fires off, it usually means the whole boat is about to get busy. Both techniques require different approaches to rod handling and fighting fish, but don't worry – we'll walk you through everything step by step.

Species You'll Want to Hook
Striped bass are the main attraction on Lake Texoma, and for good reason. These fish are absolute fighters that'll test your gear and your skills. Texoma stripers typically run anywhere from 2 to 8 pounds, with plenty of bigger fish mixed in during peak seasons. What makes these fish so special is their aggressive nature and the way they school up. When you find them, you usually find a lot of them. Spring and fall are prime time for striper fishing, but honestly, we catch fish year-round on Texoma. The cooler months often produce the biggest fish as they fatten up and move into their winter patterns. Summer fishing can be fantastic early in the morning when the water temperatures are more comfortable. These fish love to chase shad, and when they're feeding on the surface, you'll see some of the most exciting topwater action you can imagine. The fight is what really gets people hooked – stripers make long runs, dive deep, and don't give up easy. They're also excellent table fare if you decide to keep a few for dinner. The daily limit of 10 fish per person gives you plenty of opportunity to put some in the cooler while releasing the rest to fight another day.
