We were first-timers, and it took us a while to get the hang of casting, reeling, and snagging properly. Gabe and Luis were incredible teachers, full of patience and guidance. Although we only caught two salmon between the four of us, we still had an amazing time and created unforgettable memories. The scenery was breathtaking, and the weather exceeded our expectations. One highlight was a close encounter with a bald eagle that perched less than 10 feet from our group—it was such a cool experience! We brought my 72-year-old mom along, even though she wasn’t fishing. Gabe and Luis made sure she felt included, providing waders and helping her with a short hike to the shore. A big thank-you to Luis for keeping her company while Gabe helped us fish. We truly appreciate the effort you both put into making the trip enjoyable for everyone! Afterward, we met someone who’d been fishing on a boat and had a similarly slow day, so it seemed the fish weren’t biting for anyone. Despite that, we’ll definitely be back for another try—better luck next time!

We booked a group trip with Gabe on a day with less-than-ideal weather, not expecting much success. To our surprise, we all managed to catch fish! While dropping off our catch to be flash frozen, others coming off a boat in Seward remarked how impressed they were with the amount we’d caught from shore. Gabe is an incredibly helpful guide and an all-around fantastic person. We highly recommend him to anyone wanting to fish from shore with a few hours to spare. Snagging is a unique style of fishing, and it turned out to be a ton of fun!

Gabe is an exceptional guide. Despite less-than-ideal conditions—typical for Seward in August—heavy rain the night before our trip caused the creeks and rivers we planned to fish to swell to unsafe levels. We made the best of it and managed to land a few chum salmon. Gabe was calm and patient, guiding my wife and me through the process of flossing for salmon. I highly recommend Gabe to anyone looking to catch fish—especially salmon—without having to get on a boat.

This trip was a 10 out of 10 from start to finish. Gabe was fantastic at staying in communication, even with last-minute changes to our schedule. My 15-year-old son and husband had an unforgettable time, catching as many fish as they could and limiting out on pink salmon. They got to experience true local fishing. Gabe and Luis were both professional and entertaining throughout the entire experience.

My son and I had an incredible half-day trip with Gabe in Seward, AK. Just a 10-minute ride to the creek, and we were catching fish within 15 minutes. We couldn't have asked for a more authentic fishing experience or a friendlier, more knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend it!

Gabriel was an outstanding guide and a wonderful person. Our whole family enjoyed excellent onshore fishing and had a lot of fun. Gabriel ensured everyone mastered the fishing technique. We kept some salmon and caught and released so many others that we lost count. We will definitely use Gabriel again on our next trip to Alaska. I highly recommend him.
