FishBone Charters is a family-owned fishing charter operating in Southwest Florida, specializing in back bay and shallow water fishing throughout Charlotte Harbor and nearby waters. Trips are built around comfort, flexibility, and hands-on fishing, making them a great fit for families, couples, and small groups of friends. Half-day and full-day options are available, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxed day on the water without feeling rushed.
Captain Tom Fisher, known to most as “Fish,” is a Southwest Florida native with over 25 years of experience as a licensed captain. Raised in a commercial fishing family, he spent his life learning the tides, flats, and backwaters of Charlotte Harbor. His background includes competitive fishing at both local and professional levels, where he earned three championship wins. Through years on the water, he developed a strong passion for teaching others and guiding fishing trips. Captain Fish remains actively involved in protecting local fisheries and supporting clean water efforts in the region.
FishBone Charters offers several fishing styles to match each guest’s interests and experience level. Traditional rod and reel fishing is the foundation of most trips, with fly fishing and bow fishing also available for those looking to try something different. Fishing takes place across Lee and Charlotte County waters, including Pine Island Sound, Matlacha, St. James City, Turtle Bay, Bull Bay, Gasparilla Sound, Charlotte Harbor, the Myakka River, the Peace River, and the world-famous Boca Grande area. These shallow back bay waters are ideal for light tackle fishing and are located just minutes from Burnt Store Marina.
Trips are run aboard a 20-foot Dangle Hall float boat, built in 1981, powered by a 150 HP 4-stroke Yamaha engine. The boat is designed for shallow water access and a smooth ride, with an estimated cruising speed of up to 40 mph. It comfortably accommodates up to four guests, making it perfect for private trips where everyone has room to fish.
Target species may include snook, redfish, spotted sea trout, sheepshead, tripletail, crevalle jack, pompano, tarpon, cobia, and mangrove snapper, depending on season and conditions. A unique part of the FishBone Charters experience is that your entire trip is photographed and video recorded, giving you lasting memories to take home. Fishing licenses are included, so you can focus on enjoying your day on the water.
