After obtaining my captain's license, I decided to become a fishing guide as a semi-retirement plan, shifting away from the corporate world after years of burnout. What started as a major life change quickly turned into a meaningful new chapter rooted in my love for the water. Instead of long office days, I chose to spend my time helping others connect with the outdoors in a way that has always meant so much to me.
The early days of building Florida Professional Charters were anything but ordinary. During the pandemic, I began Ubering around Tampa and handing out business cards to introduce my new venture to the community. Those small moments of connection helped shape the foundation of the company. Every day brought a different story, and each new client reminded me why I set out on this path in the first place.
What brings me the most joy is watching guests reel in their very first catch. The look on their faces—full of excitement and pure satisfaction—makes every outing incredibly rewarding. Tampa Bay’s diverse fishery plays a major role in this experience. With access to inshore and offshore species, clean waters, and a thriving ecosystem, the area offers opportunities that many anglers dream about, and I’m grateful to share that with every guest.
Your trip takes place aboard a restored 22’ Nautic Star center console, a comfortable and capable vessel powered by a 225 HP supercharged Mercury Verado. Outfitted with Garmin GPS, side-scan and ClearVu fishfinding technology, a wireless trolling motor with spot lock, a livewell, and an ice-box, the boat is designed to support a smooth and productive day on the water. With room for up to four guests, it’s ideal for small groups looking for a relaxed, memorable outing across Tampa’s reefs, flats, and backcountry waters.
Anglers can expect to target species such as Snook, Tarpon, Shark, Gag Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, and Sheepshead using light and heavy tackle. Kids ages eight and up are welcome, and you’re free to keep your catch. All gear, live bait, drinks, and catch cleaning are provided, and my license covers everyone on board. Simply bring any snacks you prefer, step aboard, and enjoy a day fishing the waters of Tampa, Florida with confidence and ease.
