Walleye Fishing Trip (3 or more)
Looking for a solid day of walleye fishing that the whole crew can enjoy? Force Feed'n Charter Fishing has dialed in a walleye program that consistently puts fish in the boat. We keep things simple but effective - three departure times daily to fit your schedule, room for up to three anglers, and decades of local knowledge working in your favor. Whether you're introducing the kids to serious fishing or trying to outfish your buddies, this trip delivers the goods without the drama.
What to Expect on the Water
You've got three shots at prime time - 5AM for the early birds who know dawn means business, 12PM for those who prefer a civilized start, or 2PM when the afternoon bite kicks in. Each window has its advantages, and honestly, walleye don't read the same playbook every day. The 5AM crowd usually snags the calmest water and least boat traffic, while afternoon trips often coincide with walleye moving shallow to feed. Our boat handles three anglers comfortably without turning into a tangled mess of lines. Captain keeps things organized, spots are rotating fairly, and everyone gets their shots at the good water. No packed sardine can situation here - just enough room to fish properly and enjoy the day. The trip length gives you time to work different spots, adjust techniques when the first plan isn't clicking, and build on success when fish are cooperating.
Techniques & Tackle
Walleye fishing is all about finesse and persistence, not brute force. We'll be working a combination of trolling presentations and vertical jigging depending on conditions and fish behavior. Trolling lets us cover water efficiently with crankbaits, spinner rigs, and bottom bouncers - perfect for locating active schools. When we mark fish on the electronics, we'll switch to jigging with live bait rigs, blade baits, or soft plastics to work them more thoroughly. The captain provides all necessary tackle, but if you've got favorite jigs or proven colors, bring them along. Electronics play a huge role - we're constantly reading bottom structure, water temperature, and marking fish to stay on productive water. Light to medium action rods are the standard, paired with reels that can handle steady retrieves without fatigue. Fluorocarbon leaders are standard issue since walleye can be line-shy in clear water. Expect to work depths anywhere from 15 to 40 feet, though that changes with season, weather, and what the fish are telling us on any given day.
Species You'll Want to Hook
Walleye are the gold standard of eating fish, and they've earned that reputation through consistent table quality and challenging fishing that keeps you honest. These fish average 14 to 18 inches in most waters, with keeper fish starting around 13 inches and trophy potential reaching 25 inches or better. Spring and fall tend to produce the most consistent action as walleye move shallow to feed aggressively, though summer fishing can be excellent when you find them in deeper, cooler water. What makes walleye special is their light bite - they don't slam baits like bass or pike, instead giving subtle taps and weight that require attention and quick hook sets. They're sight feeders with excellent vision in low light, which is why dawn, dusk, and overcast days often produce the best results. Walleye travel in schools, so when you find one, there are usually more in the area. They're also structure-oriented, relating to points, drop-offs, reefs, and rocky areas where they ambush prey. The fight isn't about raw power - walleye use their body shape and head shaking to try escaping, making every fish a small victory that requires finesse to land successfully.
Time to Book Your Spot
This walleye program has found the sweet spot between productive fishing and family-friendly fun. Three daily departure times mean you can work around other plans, the boat size keeps things personal without cramping your style, and Force Feed'n Charter Fishing has the local knowledge to put you on fish consistently. Walleye fishing creates memories that stick - kids remember their first keeper, friends remember who caught the biggest fish, and everyone remembers a cooler full of some of the best eating fish that swim. Whether you're chasing a new personal best, introducing someone to serious fishing, or just need a solid day on the water, this trip delivers without the guesswork. Don't wait until prime season fills up - walleye fishing is good enough year-round that the best dates disappear fast among anglers who know what they're doing.
