Good Fish Charters offers private fishing trips in South Padre Island, guided by a local captain who truly knows the Lower Laguna Madre. Captain Samuel Garcia has been fishing these waters since 2003 and brings more than two decades of local experience to every trip. His approach is relaxed, informative, and focused on giving guests a quality day on the water, whether they are first-time anglers or seasoned fishermen.

Depending on the season and conditions, anglers may target Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Snook, and other inshore species. Fishing techniques vary and may include drifting the flats, casting shorelines, jigging deeper channels, or bottom fishing when the situation calls for it. Each trip is adjusted based on tides, weather, and the group’s experience level.

Trips are family friendly and kids are always welcome aboard. Captain Samuel takes pride in creating an easygoing environment where everyone feels comfortable and involved. Guests are encouraged to bring snacks, sun protection, and personal items. Bottled water is provided, and alcohol is allowed in moderation.

You’ll fish from a 24’ Dargel Skout bay boat that comfortably accommodates up to six guests. Rods, reels, tackle, and bait or lures are included, selected specifically for the day’s targets. Wade fishing trips are also available for anglers looking for a more hands-on shallow-water experience.

In addition to fishing, Good Fish Charters offers eco tours, dolphin watching, sunset cruises, and the popular Bubbles on the Bay experience, which includes a scenic boat ride with prosecco and a charcuterie board.

Trips are bookable daily through the website, but Monday through Friday are blocked by default. Guests who wish to book a weekday trip must contact Captain Samuel directly at least one week in advance. Weekday availability is limited due to his full-time job during the week and is subject to confirmation.
