June has kicked off with solid action both inshore and offshore around Tobago, offering plenty of opportunities for visiting anglers and local fishers alike. Offshore: The deeper waters off the north and northeast coasts are seeing steady bites from Wahoo, especially in the early morning hours. Blackfin Tuna and Dorado (Mahi Mahi) have also been showing up, particularly around floating debris lines. While Marlin sightings have been less frequent than last month, a few solid hook-ups have been reported by dedicated crews running further out. Trolling with rigged ballyhoo and skirted lures continues to be the go-to method. Inshore: The inshore scene remains lively with Tarpon starting to move into the bays early in the morning and just before sunset. Anglers using live bait or slow-sinking lures are having the most success. Jack Crevalle and Snook are also active along rocky points and mangrove-lined shores. Calm seas and clear water have made conditions ideal for sight casting on the flats, with Permit spotted cruising in small schools. Tips: June brings warming water temperatures and occasional rainfall, so early morning and late afternoon trips are producing the best results. Look for bird activity and current lines offshore, and structure near shore. Light tackle is doing the trick inshore, while heavier gear is still essential for offshore trolling.

Kester is both knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. Despite challenging conditions with choppy waves and overcast skies, he skillfully adjusted our approach while keeping the conversation engaging. By the end of the day, we managed to catch some nice fish. I highly recommend him!

Kester is an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled captain who is deeply passionate about the fishery in Tobago. He worked tirelessly to ensure we had a great fishing experience while also educating us about the challenges he faces on the island, including overfishing by commercial fishermen, pollution, and global warming. We had an amazing day, landing several large bonefish and spotting some impressive tarpon and permit. It was a true pleasure to fish with him in such a stunning location. I highly recommend spending a day on the water with Kester; it’s an outing you won’t soon forget. I hope to return and do it again soon!

I had an amazing time yesterday on the Bounty Hunter! They set up five rods simultaneously, and if you're skilled enough, they can accommodate up to ten. The crew provided an exceptional experience!
