Trips take place aboard a 2024 Twin Vee 340 GFX powered by twin Mercury 400 V10 engines. This modern offshore boat offers speed, stability, and plenty of room for anglers to fish comfortably. During the run offshore, guests can relax on plush bean bags while Captain DJ heads toward productive structure in the Gulf. Once lines are in the water, you may target species such as snapper, grouper, African pompano, amberjack, kingfish, and other popular Gulf fish depending on the season.

Captain DJ grew up fishing around Fort Myers Beach and spent years learning from experienced local anglers before starting his own charter business. After Hurricane Ian changed much of the area’s charter industry, he saw an opportunity to help bring visitors back to the water while sharing the fishery he grew up around. His goal is simple: provide guests with an authentic Gulf Coast fishing experience while keeping trips safe, organized, and enjoyable.

All fishing equipment, bait, tackle, safety gear, and licensing are included with your trip. Guests only need to bring sun protection, snacks, and anything else they would like for the day. For trips lasting eight hours or longer, a professional mate joins the crew to assist with rigging lines, landing fish, and cleaning the catch so anglers can stay focused on fishing. A gratuity of 15–20 percent for the mate is customary.

Trips depart from Punta Rassa Boat Ramp just minutes from Fort Myers Beach, with island pickup sometimes available depending on the schedule. Captain DJ also works with nearby waterfront Airbnb accommodations, making it easy to turn a fishing trip into a full Gulf Coast getaway.
