My wife and I are new to boating and fishing. We were looking for an experienced boat captain to teach us how to navigate the New River Inlet and learn the basics of trolling and casting. We hired Captain Brad to be Captain for a day on our boat and he did not dissapoint. We had a fantastic day on the water, Captain Brad is a patient, meticulous teacher. We learned alot about boat navigation and saltwater fishing basics. I absolutely recommend Captain Brad and would not hesitate to hire him again.

Amazing trip! My girlfriend and I did the half day inshore morning trip with Captain Brad at Gunny B Outdoors and we had a blast. Captain Brad catered to what we wanted to do, we fished for a while, then we went shark teeth hunting and found quite a few along with some shells and a few crabs. Really knowledgeable as a captain, as an angler and of the area and can’t leave out just an overall a great guy to have a conversation with. He recommended several restaurants in the area that we checked out that were so good and even recommended several things for us to do on the rest of our trip across North Carolina. Hoping to get back his way sometime within the next year to book another trip with him. I would recommend booking with Captain Brad to anyone.

I have been chartering 2-3 trips per year since 2018. I booked with Captain Brad at Gunny B Outdoors and had the time of my life. The Captain had a plan and executed it. The ocean was slick and we took advantage, running out 50 miles. We jigged and bottom fished various structure catching different species including limits of Triggerfish, Pink Porgy, Vermillion Snapper, could have filled the boat with American Red Snapper but the season was closed and released an 8ft shark after a 20min battle. The boat is equipped with modern electronics, quality gear and tackle. One thing I really enjoyed, the gear is properly sized for what we were targeting. No broom stick rods with giant reels to wench up fish. I could crank in a small fish quickly but I could also work a larger fish. Truly a day I will remember and one of the best days I ever had on the water. Captain Brad is a serious fisherman and likes to have a good time. I would fish with him again anytime!
