Halligan Outdoors Guide Service invites you to experience Southern Wisconsin fishing with Captain James Cooper, a licensed Wisconsin guide who knows Delavan Lake, Lake Geneva, and the surrounding waters inside and out. Whether you are planning a family day on the lake, a serious fishing trip with friends, or a unique night adventure, James works hard to make every outing safe, comfortable and memorable.

Depending on the season, your trip can take you after Carp, Grass Carp, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Northern Pike, Catfish, Bluegill, Walleye, Yellow Perch, and more. Halligan Outdoors is not limited to one style of fishing. Guests can enjoy traditional rod-and-reel trips, bowfishing, ice fishing, and one of the most unique outdoor experiences in the state: bullfrog gigging. James is Wisconsin’s only licensed bullfrog guide, giving guests a rare chance to try something different while learning from someone who understands the local waters.

You will fish from an equipped 20-foot center console boat that can accommodate up to 6 guests. Quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures are provided, so you can step aboard ready to enjoy the day. Live bait may be available by trip, so ask ahead if that is something you would like to use. For shallow-water adventures, James also operates a specialized 20-foot pusher fan boat designed to reach areas other boats cannot, opening the door to productive backwater action.

Families are always welcome. Kids can join the fun, and child-sized life jackets may be available if requested in advance. Guests are encouraged to bring a hat, polarized sunglasses, non-spray sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any favorite snacks or drinks. Some trip tiers may include meals, snacks, and beverages customized to your group.

Captain James brings a strong hospitality background from growing up around the charter industry in Louisiana. He later started a fishing YouTube channel, gained a following, and began guiding after viewers asked to fish with him. After working as a firefighter in Wisconsin, he turned his passion for the outdoors into a full-time guide service.

A valid Wisconsin fishing license is required for most fishing trips, and certain species may have seasonal rules, size limits, or harvest restrictions. James will help you understand what applies before you head out.
