Hooked On Fishing Charters

I moved to the island with only the knowledge of freshwater fishing. After many attempts from shore, I figured that it was time to try further out. I was so happy to find Captain Josh at Hooked On Fishing Charters. His knowledge and experience not only helped me land a 17 lbs Chinook, but he was great teaching me how to do it. The price was better than anywhere I could find for a single person charter. 10/5 stars!

I booked on with Joshua a few months back while visiting BC from the UK for a family trip as we wanted to try a spot of ocean fishing as I've only ever had experience with lake and river fishing in the past. Josh was the perfect guide for a group of ocean fishing noobies. He has excellent gear, and was able to teach us all how to use everything, including those of us who never fished before. He has great knowledge and is well informed of the best fishing spots in the area, and knew exactly when and where we would make our catches, and sure enough - We did indeed catch 3 huge Salmon! He was also kind enough to guide us on how to clean and prepare our catches. I'll most likely be coming back for another visit, and will absolutely be booking another charter with HOFC BC, even if we didn't make any catches, Josh was a great tour guide. Super fun dude, very chill. 100% won't forget this incredible experience.

I can’t speak highly enough of my Hooked on Fishing charter experience with captain Joshua. It was my first time fishing in the ocean and captain Joshua made me feel comfortable getting involved right from the start. He was friendly, fun, patient, clear with his teaching and extremely knowledgeable.  I have planned two more charters with captain Joshua and Hooked on Fishing for this upcoming season, and hope to add many more in the future.  Fantastic value for money, and an all round great experience. Highly recommend! 

Myself and a pal were over in September to visit a school friend of ours who lives in Colwood - he suggested a day out fishing. The three of us had an unbelievably good day on the water with Captain Joshua - who provides a lovely boat, as well as great chat, info, and advice. We were out there for the whole day, and though the fish weren't biting at first, the views were spectacular. In the end, we caught three stonking coho salmon and felt like proper fishermen - ofc we're not, but Captain Joshua is, and we wouldn't have caught a thing without his friendly guidance. Honestly an amazing experience, a real beaut of a day, and one that lives strong in the memory. Highly, highly recommend, whether you're a novice like us, or a really experienced like CJ is, it's just a damn fine time.

Have booked with Josh a couple times now. He's been great every time.

This was the first time l've ever been on charter before, and I'm definitely going to be booking this again. I did this as a little surprise for my partner and Josh was super informative of what to expect hopping on a boat out in the sea for the first time. If you're at all thinking about booking one, this is the guy that I would call. Yes I caught a 40lb+ halibut.
