From June through October, we're running three daily trips to put you on South Carolina's best striped bass action. Your Lake Murray adventure starts early when the fish are most active and the summer heat hasn't kicked in yet. We'll meet you at the dock with all the gear you need – rods, reels, tackle, and bait are all provided. The boat is rigged specifically for striper fishing with top-quality electronics to locate schools and all the safety equipment required by the Coast Guard. You'll be fishing with up to two other anglers, keeping the groups small so everyone gets plenty of action and personalized attention from Captain Danny. The trips run during peak feeding times when stripers are actively hunting, giving you the best shot at filling your limit. We cover a lot of water on Lake Murray, from the main lake structure to creek mouths where baitfish concentrate. The scenery is just a bonus – your focus will be on the bend in your rod when these fish hit.
Captain Danny uses a variety of proven techniques depending on the season, weather, and where the fish are holding. Live bait fishing is our bread and butter – nothing beats a lively herring or gizzard shad when stripers are feeding aggressively. We'll also work artificial lures like umbrella rigs, spoons, and soft plastics when the fish are relating to structure or suspended in open water. The boat is equipped with downriggers and planer boards to present baits at the right depth and spread them out for maximum coverage. Danny will teach you how to read the electronics, spot baitfish on the sonar, and recognize the telltale signs of feeding stripers.
