We had an incredible experience foraging for fungi with Steve in the enchanting forests of Salt Point! Steve is a true fungi enthusiast, and his knowledge about mushrooms and the forest ecosystem is unmatched. He made the whole experience so engaging, sharing fascinating facts about each mushroom we found and teaching us how to identify edible ones safely. His passion for the forest and fungi was infectious, and he created a relaxed and fun environment for us to learn and explore. Best mushroom experience! Got about 24 morel mushrooms and learned a great deal from Steve. He was very nice and attentive. 10/10 recommend to anyone who has a love for this kind of stuff! I would definitely do this again! It was worth the 8 hour drive for this trip! I do want to add that if you planning this mushroom trip bring a good vehicle that can take you up some elevation. And make sure you got a full take of gas! Some things to note: 1. As a group, You drive separately up the mountain 2. Keep up. There’s several stops to hit when foraging. You don’t want to get left behind haha 3. Stay together. Once Steve blows that whistle you have 2 minutes to gear up and go to the next stop. 4. And lastly, sharing is caring. Don’t mean and hog all the mushhyyyyys lol Anyways! Thanks again Steve! You’re awesome :D

Steve has a wealth of knowledge on morel and other mushrooms. His class is top~notch and he is a very likeable dude. I will be joining him in the future on his smaller 5 person classes for clamming, crabbing, fishing, etc!

I’ve always wanted to forage morels, and I could not have asked for a better first experience. Steve knows his stuff and has such a positive attitude, he’s passionate about what he’s teaching and just wants to share what he can. The bonus was tasting our freshly picked morels (sharing is caring guys) cooked by the man himself. Morels aren’t very common at all in SoCal where my wife and I are from, so I appreciate Steve for his wisdom and thought he put into this tour. You wont regret booking his Morel tour through Forage SF or through InstaForager directly. I hope to take more classes from Steve whenever we make a trip back up here in the near future ~

If you're looking for a class to forage mushrooms or clams or a gourmet meal from your spoils, Steve is the best man in Bay area! And this comes from someone who loves to complain (see my other reviews). Steve was awesome and shared his humanity through his enthusiasm, love for nature, and life itself through his mushroom foraging class. 10/10 would do it again with Steve!!
