Jason Williams
Step into the marshes of St. Bernard Parish and experience one of Louisiana’s most productive inshore fisheries with Jason’s Saltwater Guide Services, run by Captain Jason Williams. Based just a short drive from New Orleans, this locally operated guide service gives anglers of all backgrounds the chance to enjoy the region’s renowned fishing without the stress of planning it all yourself.
Captain Jason brings over two years of professional guiding experience and a lifelong connection to these waters. His calm, knowledgeable approach puts guests at ease — whether you’re stepping on a boat for the first time or returning with years of fishing under your belt. Each trip is designed around your goals and skill level, with the aim of giving you a relaxed, rewarding day on the water.
Louisiana’s coastal marshes are home to a variety of sought-after species, and Captain Jason knows how to find them. Depending on the season and conditions, your trip may focus on Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, or Sheepshead. You’ll be using light tackle and casting into some of the most fish-filled zones the Gulf Coast has to offer.
Trips begin at 6:00 AM, launching from Hopedale Highway in St. Bernard, and take place aboard a 23’ Tidewater bay boat that’s built for inshore waters. With room for up to four passengers, the boat is equipped with the gear and setup needed for a focused day of fishing. Rods, reels, and artificial lures are included, and live bait may be used depending on the plan — check with your captain before launch day.
Families and kids are welcome, and Jason makes it a priority to create a safe, easygoing experience for younger anglers. If you’re bringing children, be sure to ask about child-sized life jackets, or bring your own to ensure a proper fit.
To fish in Louisiana, all guests must carry a valid Louisiana fishing license, which can be purchased online in advance. Don’t forget to pack sun protection (lotion sunscreen only), sunglasses, and snacks. Bottled water will be available on the boat, and guests are welcome to bring their own beverages — including alcoholic drinks in moderation.
With a focus on delivering a well-run, down-to-earth charter, Jason’s Saltwater Guide Services makes it simple to enjoy everything the region’s waters have to offer. From the early morning cast to the final stop at the dock, Captain Jason is there to guide you every step of the way.
