Head out on a 2022 avid 19fs bay boat that accommodates up to 4 guests. This boat is powered by a Yamaha Vmax SHO engine and a wireless trolling motor. The best thing is that it takes only a few minutes to reach your fishing spot and start enjoying your trip.
Hooking Clown Knifefish, Peacock Bass, and Snakehead are Captain John's expertise but there are still a lot of extraordinary fish species that you'll be able to catch such species such as Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Hybrid Striped Bass and more. In addition to having a fantastic captain, you'll also have access to a private lake, so you won't have to worry about other anglers fishing in the same area.
The captain covers all fishing equipment but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. There is also bottled water provided but feel free to pack your favorite snacks and beverages along with some sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats with you.

Date: May 30, 2024 Location: Lake Ida, Delray Beach Weather: Sunny with a few clouds, light breeze, temperatures in the mid-80s Water Conditions: Clear with good visibility, water temperature around 78°F Catch of the Day: Peacock Bass: The bite has been strong in the morning hours, with several catches in the 3-4 lb range. Topwater lures and live bait have been particularly effective. Clown Knifefish: We had great success today, landing a few impressive specimens near the deeper parts of the lake using shad imitation lures. Largemouth Bass: Steady action throughout the day, with soft plastic baits and crankbaits producing good results. Crappie: Active near submerged structures, especially in the late afternoon. Small jigs and minnows have been the go-to baits. Snakehead: A couple of solid catches near the grassy areas, responding well to frog lures. Fishing Tips: Early Start: The morning bite has been the most productive, so we recommend getting on the water early. Bait Choice: Live bait has been outperforming artificial lures today, especially for Peacock Bass. Location: Focus on areas with submerged structures and grassy edges for the best results. John was great, very knowledgeable, easy going, and helpful with fishing tips. We booked the 6hr trip and couldn’t be happier, the time flew by. I honestly lost count of how many fish we caught all together. I believe 35+ Peacock Bass, 2 big Mayan Cichilds, some Largemouth bass, unfortunately missed 2 Clown Knife Fish, but now we have a reason to come back again next year. He also provides the live bait that is extra on other charters. Again, if you’re wanting to be put on the Peacocks look no further. We had a great time!! Look forward to doing it again next year.
