Private Inshore Fishing in Orange Beach
Looking for a fishing charter that puts you and your crew first? Jus Cuz Fishing Charters delivers exactly that with their private inshore trips off Orange Beach. Captain Brian and his first mate know these Gulf waters like the back of their hand, and they're not just here to drive the boat – they're here to put fish in your cooler. Whether you're planning a quick morning trip or want to make a full day of it with up to 8 hours on the water, this is your chance to fish some of Alabama's most productive inshore waters without sharing space with strangers.
What to Expect on the Water
This isn't your typical cattle-boat charter where you're elbow-to-elbow with other anglers. With space for up to 6 people, you get the entire boat to yourselves, which means more fishing time, better spots, and the captain's full attention on getting your group hooked up. The boat itself is built for comfort and fishing efficiency – plenty of room to move around, quality gear, and a captain who actually cares whether you catch fish or go home empty-handed. You'll spend your time working both trolling patterns for pelagic species and dropping down to the bottom structure for reef fish. The flexibility of a 3 to 8-hour window means you can tailor the trip to your group's energy level and fishing goals. Morning trips often produce the best action before afternoon winds kick up, but don't count out those longer days when the fish are really cooperating.
Trolling and Bottom Techniques
Captain Brian runs a mix of trolling and bottom fishing that maximizes your chances at multiple species throughout the trip. On the trolling side, you'll pull a spread of lures and rigged baits at varying depths to target King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and other pelagics that cruise these Gulf waters. The boat's electronics help locate bait schools and structure, which is where the action happens. When it's time to switch gears to bottom fishing, you'll be working with circle hooks and fresh bait over natural and artificial reefs where Red Snapper, Triggerfish, and other bottom dwellers hang out. The first mate keeps everyone rigged up with fresh bait and helps dial in your technique – especially helpful if you're new to saltwater fishing or haven't fished these specific species before. All tackle and bait are provided, though you're welcome to bring your favorite rods if you prefer fishing with your own gear.
Customer Stories
"Great morning trip before seas got a little rough courtesy of hurricane Debby. Captain got us right onto red snapper and we had some fantastic fishing. Trip was with my brother-in-law and two nephews and all really enjoyed the trip! First mate was top rated kept the boys in bait, worked with them on the techniques for catching red snapper, and did a beautiful job cleaning the fish when we rolled back to the dock. Boat is very comfortable with great fishing space. We will definitely book again when we have an opportunity to get the family back to the gulf coast!" - Linda
"We had a wonderful time after many adventures of different places. This was one of our most favorite. We enjoyed learning about the ocean and wildlife. We enjoyed all the sites and knowledge that the captain had to show us about how to get fish how to find them and what the ocean has to offer. Our trip was superior due to the fact that we did catch fish. The captain and First made informed us they would fillet them and we took them to docs seafood where they did a hook and cook. I had lemon pepper, and Mr. Ramsey had blackened they were cooked to perfection too much to expect out of a trip , I've never had Spanish mackerel before but I do recommend it if you catch them, keep them and take them to a hook and hook great adventure for a day at Gulf Shores !" - ROBERT
"Captain and crew were fantastic - very accommodating of our desire to experience salt water fishing for the first time. Caught seven different species of fish, including red snapper, triggerfish, mackerel. Great experience, and great value for the price. Jus Cuz charters will be our go-to charter on future visits." - Paul
Species You'll Want to Hook
Red Snapper are the crown jewel of Gulf bottom fishing, and Orange Beach waters hold some quality fish. These pink and red beauties typically run 2-8 pounds in these waters, though bigger ones definitely swim around the deeper structure. Snapper are structure-oriented fish that hold tight to natural bottom, artificial reefs, and wrecks. They're aggressive feeders but can be finicky about bait presentation, which is why having an experienced first mate helps dial in your technique. The best action often happens during federal Red Snapper season in summer, but you'll encounter them year-round. What makes them so popular isn't just the fight – they're absolutely fantastic eating with firm, white meat that's perfect for grilling or frying.
King Mackerel are the speed demons you'll target while trolling, and these waters produce fish ranging from schoolie-size "snake kings" up to 20+ pound smokers that'll test your drag system. Kings are migratory fish that follow bait schools and temperature breaks, making them prime targets during warmer months from late spring through early fall. They hit trolled baits hard and make blistering runs that'll get your adrenaline pumping. The key to success is covering water until you locate active schools, then working that area thoroughly. Kings are oily fish that are perfect for smoking or making fish dip, and smaller ones are excellent grilled with some blackening seasoning.
Spanish Mackerel might be smaller than their King cousins, but they make up for it with sheer numbers and cooperative attitudes. These 1-3 pound fish school up heavily and when you find them, you can often catch them as fast as you can get baits in the water. They're perfect for kids an
