Vehicle Details
May has been filled with many successful fishing trips for my clients !
Inshore Report Niceville: Redfish and black drum are biting well in the bay and around structure. Light winds and sunny days have made conditions ideal for sight fishing. Live shrimp under popping corks and soft plastics near docks and grass flats are working well. Early mornings are producing the best bite before the heat sets in. Destin: Inshore trolling has been productive, though occasional lulls have required a bit of patience. Speckled trout are hitting topwater early, with soft plastics working better as the sun rises. Spanish mackerel are showing up near the jetties and in the harbor, especially during moving tides. Offshore Report Destin & Niceville: Offshore anglers are landing king mackerel, vermilion snapper, and amberjack. Big bull sharks and even hammerhead sightings have made things interesting for the thrill-seekers. Bottom fishing in 100–200 ft has been strong, with good numbers of triggerfish, scamp grouper, and occasional red grouper. Trolling ballyhoo or cigar minnows is drawing hits from mahi-mahi and the occasional sailfish. Tackle Tips Inshore: Use live shrimp, paddle-tail soft plastics, or gold spoons. Downsizing leader and using stealthy presentations is key in clear water. Offshore: Drop cut squid or Boston mackerel near reefs for snapper and grouper. Troll at 5–7 knots for pelagics like kings and mahi. Conditions Water temperatures are hovering around 78°F with decent clarity. Afternoon thunderstorms are becoming more common, so morning trips are best. Tides have been moderate, with good moving water around midday.

Captain Wayne created an amazing experience for our family. We wanted to take our granddaughters out for their first fishing charter. He was unbelievably flexible with weather delays trying to make sure we could get out. Captain Wayne was kind, patient, and got us on the fish on a day that should have been blown out due to all the rain. Highly recommended!

Great Captain, Great Boat, Great Time! Despite being late in the season, we still caught our bag limit of Red Snapper. If a spot stopped being productive, Captain Wayne would not hesitate to take us to another. Very flexible as to what we wanted to target. Once we caught the snapper, we tried various species. Son was able to get his PR. Looking forward to another trip next time we are in town. Highly Recommend “Just Add Water Charters”
