Deer activity around Pensacola and the surrounding areas of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties is currently in its off-season phase, but now is the perfect time for scouting and prepping for the upcoming fall hunts. With warmer temperatures settling in, deer movement has shifted primarily to early morning and late evening. Bucks are starting to grow new antler velvet, and feeding patterns are focused on protein-rich sources like native forage, browse, and mineral sites. Pensacola Hunting Guides is already setting up trail cams, checking stand locations, and reviewing property conditions to ensure a productive start to the season later this year. Early signs point to healthy populations and strong antler growth, especially in private land areas where pressure is minimal. Booking your deer hunt early is highly recommended, as prime rut season dates from late October through early December tend to fill up fast.

We met up early at the Mahogany Mill boat ramp and got geared up, using a combination of deep sea, jigging, trolling, and other techniques to target a variety of species. The conditions were perfect - clear skies and calm waters made for an incredibly comfortable ride as we headed out. It didn't take long before the first rod starting singing, and D Dan was hooked into a feisty Bluefish that put up one heck of a fight. We quickly boated that one and kept the momentum going, with the crew taking turns reeling in Bluefish and Spanish mackerel on a steady pick. The action was constant, with fish hitting our baits and lures all around the boat. We covered a lot of water, trying different depths and presentations to see what the fish were responding to. The variety of techniques we got to employ really kept things interesting - from long casts with the fly rods to quick, hard-hitting jig strikes, there was never a dull moment. Everyone got in on the action, swapping rods and sharing high-fives after each successful catch. If you're looking to get out on the water and chase some hard-fighting, high-flying gamefish, there's no better way to do it than with Kings Fishing Charters in Pensacola, FL. Pensacola Fishing Report - June 2024 Captain Tim King | King's Fishing Charters Weather Conditions: The past week has seen mostly clear skies with temperatures ranging from 75°F in the morning to 85°F in the afternoon. Winds have been light, averaging around 5-10 mph from the southeast, providing calm and ideal fishing conditions. Inshore Fishing: Inshore fishing has been productive, with plenty of speckled trout and redfish caught near grass flats and oyster bars. Early mornings and late afternoons have been the most successful times, with live shrimp and soft plastic baits proving to be the most effective. Offshore Fishing: Offshore fishing has been excellent, with anglers landing impressive red snapper and grouper. The season is in full swing, and the reefs and wrecks are teeming with activity. Trolling with cigar minnows and vertical jigging have yielded great results for king mackerel and amberjack. Special Highlights: A recent trip saw a group of anglers reel in a 30-pound king mackerel, providing an exhilarating fight and a memorable photo opportunity. Another highlight was a successful dolphin cruise, with multiple sightings adding to the excitement of the day. Tips from Captain Tim: For inshore fishing, try using a popping cork with live shrimp to attract speckled trout. Offshore, focus on the deeper reefs and wrecks for the best chance at landing red snapper and grouper. Always keep an eye out for diving birds, as they often indicate schools of baitfish and predator activity below. Book Your Trip: With the fishing season in full swing, now is the perfect time to book your adventure with Kings Fishing Charters. Whether you're an experienced angler or a first-time fisher, Captain Tim King is ready to provide you with a memorable and successful fishing experience in Pensacola, FL.

Today's fishing trip was a success! We had a pretty good bite on sheep, and it made for a great day on the water. The weather was perfect, and the conditions were just right for some prime fishing. We were able to catch some nice-sized sheep that put up a good fight, and it made for an exciting day for everyone on board. As always, I was thrilled to be out on the water and to share the experience with our guests. Overall, it was a great day of fishing and I can't wait to do it again soon!

Captain Tim (King) put us on fish, and kept us on fish- a 6 hour trip and 4 of us were worn out! We loved every minute of it. We caught our limit of Vermillion snapper, a bunch of grunts, a spade fish, bonita, lots of large remora, had a 3 foot barracuda biting at bait right at the boat. and two 30+ lb Amberjack were taken . what a trip! Thanks Captain Tim!

Went on this charter with my wife and my brothers. It was absolutely incredible! None of us has fished in over 15 years and the Captain helped us so much. He put us on the fish constantly and he was very professional and nice.

I was a little disappointed. We booked a 5 hour offshore trip and was supposed to be Targeting bigger Fish: African Pompano, Albacore Tuna, Gag Grouper, King Mackerel, Red Snapper. Such as the web site shows. The day before we were set to arrive Tim called and said he had to bump us to a smaller boat because he just booked a party of 6. Would have been ok except the smaller boat beat the crap out of us. (At no fault of the driver) it was just rough conditions. But the larger boat we were supposed to be on would have handled the rough water much better. We CAUGHT ALOT OF FISH!!! but not a single targeted species. We only fished for mengo the entire trip. I thought that the mengo fishing was gonna be like a warm up then move on to the big stuff I had specifically asked for. But when I asked the guide he said he was unaware that we wanted the bigger stuff that Tim did not let him know that And that it was to late to switch up. So all in all the guide worked his but off to get us as many fish as possible and succeed but just wasn’t the species of fish we wanted and paid for. I asked for big and we got small just a bunch of them. So if you do book with them, just need to make sure when you get to the dock that your guide has a clear understanding of what you have booked and paid for.
