Captain Jon has dedicated 15 years to serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman, actively fighting on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he sustained injuries in battle. Growing up in Niceville, Florida, he is well-acquainted with the local area and the waters he now fishes in. His passion for fishing and connecting with people has led him to Destin, Florida, where those who fish with him once are likely to return year after year. Known for his friendly demeanor, Captain Jon ensures that his guests enjoy a fun-filled day of laughter while fishing.

With a wealth of experience on the tides, Captain Jonathan is eager to help anglers catch a variety of species, including Red Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Gray Triggerfish, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Bonito, Black Grouper, and Gag Grouper, among others, depending on the season. On the day of the trip, guests can expect to engage in both trolling and bottom fishing using light or heavy tackle.

Kraken Reels welcomes families, making it a great opportunity for a memorable family outing. Guests without child-sized life vests are encouraged to ask if one is available on board. Snacks are welcome, so visitors can bring their favorites along.

Captain Jonathan operates a 50-foot Chris-Craft sportfishing vessel that accommodates up to six passengers. The boat is equipped with everything needed for a successful day on the water, including a toilet for convenience, rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait may be provided, but it's advisable to inquire ahead to see if guests will need to catch it themselves.

A First Mate will be present to ensure a smooth operation throughout the trip. Mates work diligently to enhance the experience, and it is customary to tip between 10% and 20% for their efforts.
