Hunter Kisner
Legendary Outdoors is North Dakota’s premier resource for unforgettable days on the water. Operated by lifelong angler Hunter Kisner, our outfitter specializes in walleye fishing charters yet delivers action-packed pursuits for northern pike, smallmouth bass, and white bass as well. From the broad basins of Lake Sakakawea to the winding currents of the Missouri River, we craft customized adventures that showcase the very best of Great Plains angling.
I’m Hunter Kisner, a local guide and lifelong angler, and I’m proud to offer guided fishing trips across some of the best lakes and rivers in the state. Whether it’s your first time on the water or you’re a seasoned pro chasing trophy walleye, my goal is to give you an unforgettable day filled with laughs, learning, and of course—plenty of hooksets.
We run full and half-day trips on Lake Sakakawea and Devils Lake, two of the top fisheries in the Midwest. Sakakawea’s endless shoreline and deep structure make it a go-to for big walleyes, while Devils Lake delivers action with northern pike, smallmouth bass, white bass, and more. If you’re after something a little different, we also offer guided fishing Missouri River trips, navigating the mighty current in search of schools of fish and those sweet backwater ambush points.
I use a 2019 Nitro ZV21 powered by a Mercury Verado and a Mercury ProKicker, outfitted with all the gear you need for a comfortable, productive day on the water. Whether we’re trolling, jigging, or casting into shallow structure, I’ll be right there to guide you through every step of the process. And when the day’s done, I’ll clean and vacuum seal your catch so it’s ready for the grill or freezer.
All you need to bring is a valid fishing license, a hat, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, and food and drinks for the day. We can comfortably host up to four anglers per trip, making this a great option for families, friends, or small groups looking for a unique North Dakota experience. Just note that booking deposits are non-refundable, so lock in your date early—especially during peak season.
At the end of the day, I love what I do, and nothing makes me happier than seeing folks light up after landing a big one. If you're looking for authentic North Dakota guided fishing trips with a friendly, knowledgeable guide who truly cares about your experience, I'd be honored to have you aboard. Give me a shout, and let’s get you on the water. Tight lines, and I’ll see you out there!
