Big winds on Lake Huron changed some things and cause a need to shift tactics. Its getting close to being my favorite time of the spring to target Lake Trout. On the other hand Walleye fishing is picking up in Algonac.
Took this really nice Steelhead just outside the harbor in 20 feet of water on an orange and black body bait. The water temp was right around 47 degrees.
It has been tough getting out on the water this past week due to high wind conditions. However, the weather looks more stable for the week ahead.
First trip happens on 4-8. More information to come next week.
Water temps are hovering around 45 degrees and there's about 5 feet of visibility. We landed 12 fish today jigging with white hair jigs.
Walleye fishing has been steady recently in port huron and the lake trout bite is getting started too. The water temp in Harbor Beach was 46.5 degrees
The walleye have been biting late. Water temp is 52 degrees. color has not seemed to matter much.
Water temp was 56 degrees. A strong north wind had the water stained to about 5 feet of visibility. The trip started out slow but the last hour before dark was like a switch flipped and it was game on.
Walleye fishing was decent today. Also caught a few sheepsheads. The water temp was 59 degrees.
Pretty much same program as yesterday. Sheephead were biting good today! Caught about 8 of them and 4 Walleye.
Got a limit of Walleye mid-day in about 2 hours fishing out of Port Huron. The water temp was 66. The best bite came in 50-55 FOW.
Found some Pike action today in the Lake St. Clair Channel system.
Bass fishing was slow today, but Pike fishing with spinnerbaits turned out to be pretty good.
Starting to see more Walleye show up in the river system every week. The channel mouths with bright colored crawler harness have been most productive for Walleyes. Smallmouth are using the same zones but we have been using tube baits to target them.
Lake spots have been more dominant this year as the river hasn't kicked off like normal.
Smallmouth bass fishing at the channel mouths is holding steady using tubes.

The fish weren't biting that good but Nate did a 110 percent in trying. Caught 3 small pike. Nate is a great guy and a great guide. We will definitely go again.

Fantastic experience! Me and Brady Bussey went on a fishing charter with Captain Nate on June 12TH, and the weather was perfect, along with the learning experience with fishing. Definitely recommend!

We had a great time with Nate. He is very knowledgeable and really knows his stuff. It was towards the end of the season (a bit chilly in Nov) but we were happy to fit in this trip before the ice. And we caught a ton of Walleye. We will be back next summer for sure! Highly recommend MI Honey Hole Fishing!!!

I surprised my husband with a fishing charter for our 5th anniversary and it was sooo wonderful! The views were breath taking, the knowledge we learned from Nate was so neat! And don’t forget the fishing lol. We caught so many different kinds and being newbies, he taught us the simple ins and outs. We felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Definitely will do this again in the future!

We haven't been lucky (3 pikes, 3 rock perches), but that happens sometimes. Still a 5 star experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a local charter. The captain is a consummate professional and does his best to ensure a fun and rewarding experience.
