Before fatherhood, Captain Dave spent his post-college years competing professionally in the B.A.S.S., RedMan, and FLW tournament series. Nanticoke Outfitters is family-friendly, with a focus on getting kids excited about fishing. With over 20 years of experience fishing with children, Captain Dave ensures young anglers have a safe and fun experience. Child-sized life vests are provided, and snacks are always a good idea to keep everyone happy on board.
The boat accommodates up to six passengers and has recently been upgraded with a new 350hp Suzuki motor, fresh upholstery, new electronics, and more. Fishing rods, reels, bait, and licenses are all included, so you can simply relax and enjoy your trip. A helpful First Mate will assist throughout the journey, and gratuities (20%) are appreciated for their efforts.
Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, drinks, and snacks. Water bottles and an ice chest are provided. Moderate alcohol is allowed (no hard liquor or glass bottles, please).

Captain Dave was fantastic. He thoroughly explained everything before we headed out. We drifted and caught a variety of fish, including flounder, croaker, sea bass, and my daughter even caught a sea robin (flying fish). Everyone had success. Captain Dave knew exactly where to position us, managing the tide and wind perfectly. Even my wife, who typically struggles to catch anything, managed to land two fish. When my daughter’s line got tangled in the motor, Captain Dave and his crew handled it calmly, even as the tide was pulling us toward the docks. I would have been stressed, but they remained unflustered. After the trip, we asked for a dinner recommendation, and Captain Dave suggested an excellent restaurant. If we return to Ocean City, we'll definitely book another trip with Captain Dave.

Captain Dave was amazing. He provided all the necessary equipment and took us to some great spots he believed would be productive. Although the fish were a bit stubborn that day, everyone on board had a great time and we'd absolutely do it again. This was my son's first fishing trip, and they made sure to give him special attention to ensure he had a fantastic experience too. I highly recommend Nanticoke Outfitters to both experienced and novice anglers. P.S. Frank, the first mate, was awesome as well!

From the booking process to the excellent communication leading up to our trip, everything was seamless, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Captain David and First Mate Frank were outstanding. We brought our 12- and 9-year-old boys along, and David and Frank were fantastic with them—teaching them how to set the crab traps and letting them pull them up to check for crabs. We highly recommend Nanticoke Outfitters if you're looking for a top-notch charter experience in Ocean City, Maryland!

Captain Dave and crewmate Frank were fantastic to spend the day with on the bay. From setting up the pick-up location the night before to the end of our trip, they helped create an unforgettable experience for myself and my boys, who were out on a boat for the first time. Though it was a windy day, which made getting around a bit challenging, we made the most of it. We opted for the crabbing and fishing combo because we were eager to set traps and catch crabs, something we had never done before. Captain Dave got us right into it, allowing the kids to help set and check the pots, which they absolutely loved. The fish started biting quickly, but the weather turned, and we ended up with only one keeper. We also caught 10 keeper crabs, though most were sponges or pregnant, which was still fine by us. While the results weren’t exactly what we hoped, it didn’t take away from the wonderful time we had. Overall, we had great conversations and a fantastic outing. If we’re ever back in the area, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose them again—this is a perfect family-friendly setup!

Captain Dave and his crew were fantastic! From the beginning, they outlined the plan for the day and asked what our goals were. We moved to a few different spots, each holding fish. Captain Dave took the time to explain the technique for hooking flounder and even showed us, using the first flounder we landed, how they camouflage themselves on the bottom while feeding. We caught at least 10 flounder, lost a few, and missed a couple, but no keepers – which was totally fine because our goal wasn’t necessarily to catch keepers, but to enjoy a fun morning fishing with the kids. And we definitely did that! Captain Dave was very accommodating, and we would absolutely book with him again when we're back in Ocean City.
