Book with Nate Rogers
Get ready for a genuine Alaskan fishing experience with Nate of the North Outdoors, where local knowledge, patience, and pure grit power every trip. Based on the wild and scenic Kenai Peninsula, this locally owned and operated guide service offers hands-on fishing adventures that focus on connection—to the fish, the water, and the people who join the journey.
Owner and guide Nate is known around Alaska not for his boat's engine, but for his own drive. As one local put it, “Nate doesn’t own a motor, but winds up becoming the motor!” That energy, paired with years of experience on rivers, lakes, and saltwater, makes every trip more than just a day of fishing—it’s an education, a story, and a full-on Alaskan experience. Nate has traveled across the Americas chasing fish and sharing laughs, and now he’s back on his home waters helping others learn the ropes, from new anglers to seasoned pros.
Nate of the North Outdoors specializes in targeting a wide range of species including trout, Dolly Varden, sockeye salmon, silver salmon, halibut, and even sharks. Whether casting in cold rivers or holding steady offshore, Nate teaches every step with care. He walks you through the techniques, talks you through the strategy, and works hard to make sure every guest walks away having learned something new. It’s not about the size of the boat—it’s about the size of the experience.
Each trip includes the basics: quality fishing rods and tackle, a guide who doesn’t quit, and plenty of time on the water. To keep you going strong, Nate provides a warm meal, clean drinking water, bug spray, sunscreen, and good conversation. You’ll need to bring a few essentials—like waders, warm clothes, polarized sunglasses, and your best smile—but the rest is taken care of.
Expect to walk away with more than just fish. Nate’s trips are about feeling the river, reading the current, and respecting the environment. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back, with room to learn, laugh, and make memories that stick. Whether you're traveling solo or with a small group, you'll be part of a trip where the guide is all in, the lines stay tight, and the day is full of purpose.
Nate of the North Outdoors—it’s not just fishing. It’s doing it the Alaskan way.
