We launched under partly cloudy skies with storms possible throughout the day, which kept things interesting on the water. The crew was ready to get after some inshore action, and I was fixin' to show them why our Majestic Oriental, NC after lunch fishing trip is very productive as the sun gets lower on the Neuse River with Pamlico Pirate Fishing Charters. Once the stage was set, we focused our efforts on drift fishing, bottom fishing, and casting with lures to work the productive waters. The Neuse River around Oriental is perfect for this type of inshore fishing because the structure and current create ideal feeding zones where fish like to hold. The afternoon bite kept us engaged as we moved through our rotation of techniques, and the partly cloudy conditions provided good fishing weather despite the threat of storms. Hot bite and happy crew! I took Kip out for a fantastic summer day of inshore fishing with Pamlico Pirate Fishing Charters in Oriental NC. We set off early in the morning under partly cloudy skies, perfect conditions for our adventure on the Pamlico Sound. The water was inviting as we left from 301 Midyette St, ready to target some of the area's prized catches. Despite a forecast of afternoon rain, we were determined to make the most of our time on the water with Pamlico Pirate Fishing Charters. Once the stage was set, we got down to business, employing a mix of bottom fishing, live bait fishing, and trolling techniques. These methods proved effective as we worked the inshore waters. Our efforts paid off when Kip landed a impressive 19-inch Spotted Weakfish, a great catch that really got our momentum going. As we continued to work the area, we also managed to boat a solid 15-inch Bluefish, adding some variety to our day. The combination of techniques we used allowed us to adapt to the fish's behavior and maximize our chances of success throughout the trip. While we didn't land any trophy bull reds or tarpon this time, the Spotted Weakfish and Bluefish provided plenty of action to keep us engaged. As the clouds started to build later in the day, signaling the approach of the forecasted rain, we wrapped up our fishing with smiles all around. What a great day on the water we had here in Minnesott Beach, Pamlico County! I took Daryl out for our NC Charter Multi-Species Fishing Adventure, and the fishing was absolutely on fire. May is a prime time for inshore fishing in this area, with the warming waters bringing the fish up to feed aggressively. We hit the water right around 8:00 am and started working the shorelines and creek mouths with our light tackle setups. It didn't take long before Daryl's rod bent over hard—he was into a nice Redfish that put up a spirited fight. After getting that one in the boat, the action just kept coming. We landed Spotted Trout, Bluefish, and a solid Black Drum, all putting on a show and keeping us on our toes. The fishing was great, but the best part was just spending a fun day on the water with good company. The weather cooperated beautifully, with partly cloudy skies and a comfortable breeze. Even when the late afternoon rain rolled in, we just hunkered down and kept casting, determined to make the most of every minute. Between the great catches and the incredible scenery of the Pamlico Sound and Neuse River, it was the perfect way to experience the best of inshore fishing here in eastern North Carolina. If you're looking to get in on the amazing multi-species action in the Pamlico region, I highly recommend booking a trip with Pamlico Pirate Fishing Charters. I first met Dave around 1995 when he was in charge of promotions at Evinrude. He was always at the ramp looking to fish with the Prostaff. He wanted to learn. I still remember the day he had the largest bag on Kentucky Lake in his first FLW event. All the Prostaff were very proud. Dave is a knowledgeable angler and has been around industry legends all his life. I’m excited he’s decided to share his lessons.

My son and I fished two days with Dave and we had a great time! The weather wasn’t ideal the first day and the fishing was a little slow but Dave worked his butt off and put us on fish both days. We caught some nice drum, along with a flounder and a bunch of blues. I’ll be fishing with Dave again in a few weeks and I’m already looking forward to the trip! Thanks Capt!

My wife, grandson and I had an awesome morning fishing with Capt Dave. With the season just heating up and the winds picking up this morning, we had be best morning that we could have and did boat fish despite difficult conditions. Capt Dave willingly shared his knowledge and techniques for us to use on future trips. The boat, equipment, and safety gear were all up to date, clean and ready to do their jobs. Reels were freshly spooled, corrosion free and clearly well maintained. I'd not hesitate to book another trip or recommend him. From first timers, to seasoned fishermen, The Pamlico Pirate has something for everyone, aarrrgggghh. Fair winds and following seas to all.
