The centerpiece of their operations is Captain Tanner’s 25' Carolina Skiff, a well-maintained vessel that comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. This boat is powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine, which enables it to reach speeds of up to 40 knots. It is equipped with modern navigational and safety equipment, a live bait tank, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh and your refreshments cold.
Fishing trips are conducted primarily in the inshore waters surrounding Panacea. During colder months, live bait, such as shrimp, is used to attract a variety of species. As temperatures rise, the focus shifts to trolling and spinning on the flats. Captain Tanner advised postponing our trip by one night to avoid high winds, and his recommendation was spot on. The following night brought perfect weather, allowing us to catch a substantial amount of flounder and one sheepshead. The service was knowledgeable and professional, set in a stunning location. I highly recommend Panacea Outfitters, and the boys are already looking forward to our next adventure!
