Joining you is our Captain, Jay Leach, He is a longtime educator, public safety volunteer, and expert angler! He operated Patriotic Excursions as a way to share his unique experience in an exciting, and engaging way.
Your boat for the day will be the ‘Merica, a beautiful 24’ real navy RHIBs that comes powered by a 210HP Cummins engine and with a maximum cruising speed of 32 knots. This vessel is a former Naval Special Warfare with enough room for 4 anglers and top-notch gear, ideal for a productive day on the water. Merica features a full set of electronics, a Live Bait Well, a flybridge, and an ice box for the catch.
Virginia Beach is not only known for its outstanding beaches, but it also provides the best saltwater fishing of all the mid-Atlantic fishing spots. Some of the species you’ll target include Flounder, Cobia, Tautog, Sheepshead, and Spadefish. Explore the Wind Farms for small tuna, or the Triangle Wrecks for large Black Drum, Redfish, Striped bass, Spotted Seatrout, Spade Fish, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, and more! Captain Jay has fished these waters his entire life and this charter guarantees that you will catch fish, no matter what time of year you decide to visit.

This was a very nice trip, it was windy so we couldn’t go out far for safety reasons. Our captain Jay made the trip very fun and relaxing, despite having to stay inland for weather reasons. Overall very nice scenery. Oh and Jay brought a guard lion (dog) she was very behaved and guarded the boat by sleeping.

We had a great time!!! 100% recommend to anyone looking for something fun and a little different. We didn't get a whole lot of the Military info we thought we were going to but we really enjoyed the dolphins, going around on the water, the lighthouse, even getting wet with the cold water wasn't all that bad. So glad I found this and hope you enjoy yourself too!

Wow! Unbelievable experience… definitely not a typical tourist boat trip! Captain Jay was very informative, attentive and knowledgeable about the historic events that led to inception of the Navy Seals. He was conscientious about safety measures to make sure we all felt comfortable and safe on a riveting and rigorous nautical experience. One of a kind trip that instilled pride in our military forces and their joint efforts in world conflicts. The highlight of the trip was Jay’s ability to locate dolphins and give us an up close experience. Thank you for an unforgettable afternoon.

We saw so many dolphins! In addition, the kids loved the boat ride and it is truly the only VB experience. Thanks for the memories!!!

Captain Jay made it an amazing birthday trip for our grandson. We had hoped to see whales, but he made sure we knew that the chances were slim at the time we took the tour. He did locate multiple dolphins for us and got us so close we thought the grandson was going to join the pod. We came away soaked, but with a happy, happy boy!
