Captain Luis was born and raised in the vibrant coastal town of Dorado, Puerto Rico, where his deep-rooted connection to the North Coast has shaped his life from a very young age. Growing up in this picturesque town, Luis was captivated by the sea and developed an early passion for fishing. From his childhood days, he could often be found on the water every weekend, exploring the rich marine life with his friends and participating in numerous fishing tournaments that were held across the island. These formative years allowed him to master various light tackle techniques and lay the groundwork for a lifelong career in fishing.

With over 30 years of fishing experience under his belt and 21 years of professional charter service, Captain Luis has become a revered expert in the field. His journey began on the local waters, but his ambition led him to work as a mate on offshore sport fishing charter boats, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. By the late 1990s, he had achieved a significant milestone in his career: earning his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License. This accomplishment marked the beginning of a new chapter in his professional life, as he started captaining private sport fishing yachts and offering inshore fishing charters.

Throughout his career, Captain Luis has had the privilege of fishing across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, broadening his expertise and deepening his love for the sport. As a 100-ton Master Captain and a proud member of esteemed organizations such as the Puerto Rico Light Tackle Anglers Club, the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and the Puerto Rico Sportfishing Association, he is well-respected in the angling community. His extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for fishing are evident in every charter he leads.
