Capt. Mark is awesome. Great guy, happy to show kids (as well as fairly inexperienced adults) the ropes. He is safety-oriented, very knowledgeable, and most importantly, respects the wildlife and their habitat. We all had a great time and the experience was well worth what it cost and then some. Captain Mark at Reel Bolivar Fishing gave my family an unforgettable day on the water. He was amazing with my two young boys (5 and 2), keeping them happy, involved, and safe the whole time — not an easy task on their very first fishing trip. We caught some beautiful Speckled Trout, and I still got plenty of time to fish while enjoying those special moments with my kids. Captain Mark knew exactly where to take us, reading the tides and conditions to keep us on the bite. His skill, patience, and determination really showed. And the boat dog? The kids are still talking about their new furry friend. We walked away with a cooler of fish and memories we’ll hold onto forever. We’ll definitely be back — I wouldn’t fish Bolivar with anyone else.

These past two days of fishing were some of the best I’ve ever experienced. I’m 72 and have fished with many guides along the Texas Gulf Coast, and Mark easily ranks among the very best. On top of putting us on fish, he taught me techniques I’d never tried before — he’s a fantastic coach. We also loved having his yellow lab, Annie, along for the trip. She brought us plenty of luck and a lot of smiles. I’ll definitely be booking with Mark again. No doubt about it.

Captain Mark was an excellent guide and an all-around great guy. He taught us how to cast, hook, and reel in fish, and made the whole trip a lot of fun. He connected so well with my daughter — she was nervous at first, but by the end she was casting confidently and catching fish on her own. His boat and gear were top-notch, too. We fished today with Guide Mark Allen, and even with a slow bite, his persistence paid off and we landed some nice Redfish. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and a great person to fish with. We’ll be booking with him again on our next trip. Highly recommend!
