Bokeelia Speckled Trout Action - 4 Hour Winter Trip Success!
One for the books today! Nick and I headed out for our winter afternoon 4 Hour Seasonal Trip down by the glades with Reel Fishing SWFL Charters. The weather was clearing in the afternoon, which made for perfect conditions cruisin' the flats around Bokeelia waters. South West Florida's backcountry was calling our names! With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on live bait fishing combined with casting and drift fishing techniques. Nick landed some solid Speckled Trout that put up great fights! South West Florida's inshore waters are absolutely perfect for this style of fishing - the grass flats and structure around Bokeelia hold plenty of trout, and the drift fishing really lets you cover water effectively while the live bait does its magic. We wrapped up the trip with tight lines and smiles all around! The bite was hot today and it reminded me why I love guiding these waters so much. Every cast had potential, and watching those trout hit the live bait never gets old! The afternoon clearing gave us perfect visibility to work the flats properly. We had the best time out with these guys on our 6 hour trip! We all caught fish, seen the Gulfs beautiful wildlife from sea turtles and a manatee to dolphins in the distance and a few up close for a hello lol. It was our first charter and we cannot wait to go back! Thanks for having us!!

We had such a great morning, our only regret was that we didn’t do a longer charter! From the first 30 seconds out I was catching fish, my. 2 friends were catching fish, all kinds of fish too, spotted sea trout, sheeps head, a whole bunch of other fish. Captain Miguel was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun! He also knows the secret spots! It was such a great charter trip, we can’t wait to do it again! Thank you!
