With water temperatures falling the redfish are starting to school up on the shallow flats on a high tide. This is a great time of year to catch a fish of a lifetime!!
Fishing in Sarasota remains excellent, with a wide range of species available and favorable conditions prevailing. Whether you're targeting Snook in the shallows or Tarpon in deeper waters, now is an excellent time to hit the water and enjoy the abundant angling opportunities Sarasota has to offer.
Given the unpredictable weather patterns, flexibility with timing is crucial, trusting your captain—who's on the water daily—to make last-minute decisions about when to embark on each day's outing. During this season, I reserve the entire day for my clients, allowing us to set sail when weather and tide conditions are optimal. With a flexible schedule, we can transform a day like today, which was forecasted for 40-60% showers by the Weather Channel, into one of the most successful fishing experiences we've had this year. Trust your captain over the forecast!
April is a great time for fishing in Sarasota, with plenty of opportunities to catch a variety of species. The weather is mild, and the water is warming up, making it an ideal time to get out on the water. Here's what you can expect when fishing in Sarasota in April. Inshore fishing in Sarasota is great in April, with plenty of opportunities to catch snook, redfish, and trout. These species are beginning to move out of their winter patterns and are becoming more active in the shallow flats and backwaters. Live bait, such as shrimp or pinfish, is the best option for targeting these species. Here are some tips for fishing in Sarasota in April: Pay attention to the tides: The tide plays a big role in fishing success. Look for moving water around structure, such as mangroves or oyster bars. Use live bait: Live bait is the best option for targeting inshore species, such as snook and redfish. Shrimp or pinfish are great options. Keep an eye out for birds: Birds can lead you to schools of baitfish, which in turn can attract larger predatory fish. Check the weather: The weather can change quickly in Florida. Check the forecast before heading out on the water, and be prepared for changes in wind and rain.
Make this the perfect holiday season, book a guided fishing trip with us today! Get ready to cast your line and bring home some fresh catches of Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, and more! Morning bites have been great!! I can definitely agree with the closer of reds, trout, and snook. I've been seeing so many healthy juices and fatty slot fish!!

My family had a great time on this fishing trip. Everyone caught much fish and a wide array was found as well. Unfortunately, we were not able to get any Snook but I caught three species that were new to me. My wife caught a Pompano that put up a fight. My daughter a Puffer fish and talked about it for the rest of the day. The constant action and variety on this trip were well worth the cost.
