Our 6-hour private charters are designed for groups who want the whole boat to themselves and the freedom to fish their way. From September through mid-November, we're hitting the water at 7:00 AM sharp to take advantage of those prime morning hours when the fish are most active. This isn't your typical tourist trip - we're talking about real fishing with experienced guides who know exactly where to find the good stuff.
When you book with us, you're getting a full morning and afternoon of serious fishing time. Six hours gives us plenty of opportunity to move around the lake, try different spots, and really dial in on what's working that day. Lake St. Clair is massive - we're talking about 430 square miles of prime fishing water - so having that extra time means we can chase the bite wherever it takes us. The fall season is absolutely prime time here. Water temperatures are cooling down, baitfish are schooling up, and the predators are feeding heavy before winter sets in. We'll start early to beat any boat traffic and get you on fish while they're still actively feeding. Our boat comfortably handles up to six anglers, so whether you're bringing the whole family, a group of buddies, or planning a corporate outing, we've got you covered. The setup gives everyone plenty of room to fish without getting tangled up in each other's lines.
Fall fishing on Lake St. Clair requires adapting to changing conditions, and that's where our experience really shows. We'll be using a mix of techniques depending on what the fish are doing that particular day. Jigging is huge this time of year - we'll have you working jigs tipped with minnows or crawlers in 15 to 25 feet of water where the perch like to school up. Trolling is another go-to method, especially when we need to cover water and locate active fish. We'll pull small spoons, spinners, and body baits at different depths until we find the sweet spot. All the gear is provided - rods, reels, tackle, and bait. We keep our equipment well-maintained and matched to the fishing we're doing. You don't need to worry about bringing anything except yourself and whatever snacks or drinks you want for the day. The boat is equipped with fish finders and GPS, so we're not just randomly dropping lines - we're targeting structure, depth changes, and areas where we consistently find fish. During the fall months, we're often focusing on the Canadian side of the lake where deeper water meets shallower flats. These transition zones are fish magnets, especially when the weather starts to turn.

American Yellow Perch are the stars of the show during our fall charters, and for good reason. These aren't your typical small panfish - Lake St. Clair grows some seriously chunky perch that'll surprise you with their size and fight. We're talking about fish that regularly hit 10 to 12 inches, with plenty of jumbos pushing 13 inches or better. The fall bite is absolutely phenomenal because these fish are packing on weight for winter. They school up in massive numbers over mud flats and drop-offs, making for some fast-paced action once you locate them. What makes perch fishing so addictive is the consistency - when you find a school, you can often catch them one after another until your arms are tired. They hit jigs aggressively this time of year, and the fight is surprisingly strong for their size. The meat quality is outstanding too - sweet, flaky fillets that are perfect for a fish fry. Kids absolutely love perch fishing because the action is steady and they're not too big to handle easily. Even experienced anglers get fired up when we hit a good perch bite because the numbers can be absolutely crazy.
Fall fishing on Lake St. Clair doesn't last forever - our season runs from September 8th through November 15th, and the best fishing typically happens during a fairly narrow window when conditions are just right. Water temperatures, weather patterns, and fish behavior all have to line up, and when they do, the fishing can be absolutely lights-out. Don't wait until the last minute to book your trip.
