Remedy Sport Fishing offers private inshore and offshore fishing trips out of Norfolk, Virginia, serving the Lower Chesapeake Bay and nearby coastal waters. This family-owned charter is led by a second-generation captain who grew up learning saltwater fishing from his father, a highly respected local angler. That foundation shaped a calm, patient approach focused on helping guests enjoy the day, learn new skills, and leave with lasting memories.
Trips take place aboard a 28-foot Century boat powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, cruising comfortably to productive fishing grounds. The vessel accommodates up to five guests and is set up for both trolling and bottom fishing. Fishing licenses are included, making the experience simple from the moment you arrive at the dock.
Inshore trips target flounder, mackerel, sheepshead, spadefish, cobia, drum, and tautog, depending on season and conditions. Offshore full-day trips focus on black seabass, tautog, and flounder, with access to deeper waters when weather allows. The captain adjusts each trip based on tides, water temperature, and guest goals to give everyone the best possible opportunity.
All trips are family-friendly, with a minimum age of seven, and are well suited for beginners as well as experienced anglers. Guests often appreciate the relaxed pace, clear instruction, and local knowledge that comes from a lifetime spent fishing these waters. Whether you want to learn bottom fishing techniques, enjoy steady action close to shore, or spend a full day offshore, trips are structured to fit your group.
Peak season runs from spring through late fall, with steady fishing opportunities throughout much of the year. Shoulder-season trips from winter into early spring can offer quieter conditions and less pressure on the water. Future plans include eco tours and sunset cruises for guests who want to enjoy the Chesapeake Bay beyond fishing.
If you’re looking for a private Norfolk fishing charter rooted in tradition, local experience, and a genuine love for being on the water, Remedy Sport Fishing is ready to welcome you aboard.
