Hot bite and happy crew! Summer fishing in Newport, RI kicked off with a bang as I took Daniel and their crew out for an inshore adventure with Rhode Island Kayak Fishing Adventures. We hit the water in the early morning, greeted by clearing skies as the day progressed. The New England waters were calling our names, promising a day full of action and memories. Once the stage was set, we wasted no time getting down to business. Our inshore saltwater kayak fishing trip had us trying a mix of techniques to entice the local species. We managed to hook into some quality fish, including a 26-inch striped bass that put up a great fight. The real highlight came when we landed a 27-inch cobia - not an everyday catch in these parts, that's for sure. To round out our species count, we also brought in a chunky 27-inch bluefish. It was a solid day of fishing, showcasing the diverse opportunities Newport's waters have to offer. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, proud of our mixed bag of catches.
